Danny Gokey's Label Switches First Single Since "It's Only" Sucks So Bad

Apparently, the Idols can't put out decent singles nowadays. Likely because it was failing miserably, Danny Gokey's label has switched his first single from the incredibly mockable "It's Only" to the only a little bit better "My Best Days Are Ahead of Me". The song isn't any good, but after "Its only Jesus, la da da da" it sounds like a masterpiece.

I think it's funny that the dislike people had for DWD pales in comparison to the dislike they have for Madam. Here's a verse from "It's Only":

It’s been 18 months and 14 Days

Bobby can’t get him a job

Repo man’s gonna take his van I hear

Bobby’s giving up on God

He needs a hand up and not a hand out

Hey, everybody’s gotta suffer

Don’t worry, don’t worry

It’s only my brother

So, he doesn't care that all this shit is happening to his brother? Am I not reading it right? I think Jesus needs to take the wheel on this one.

Good grief, this replacement single is worse than It's Only. Looks like Mr. Arrogant is getting a real world experience. Gokey was my least favorite of the AI season 8 final ten. He is such a bore and his cocky arrogance was laughable. Don't think Gokey is going to make it as a "country star", next stop Christian music. He looks on the single cover like he finally let a stylist go to work on him, not that there is that much of an improvement.

"He needs a hand up and not a hand out"

I guess we shouldn't be surprised that Gokey hates unemployed people and people on welfare.

He's wrong, of course: his best days are behind him. Welcome to obscurity, douchebag.

Urk. Well. As someone who listens to country more than most other stations, I do think this fits in a lot more with what's currently on the radio than his previous one did.

It's very Lonestar ballad-y. That's not necessarily a good thing, but I can imagine stations actually playing it, at least.

I don't even watch AI much but Gokey pisses me off. Even hearing his voice sends me into a blind rage

Fartchuleta's voice pisses me off too. And I hate that poser, Constantcrap, too

(see what I mean?? Now I'm freakin angry!!)

You can actually fail at a country music career? How is that possible?! He's singing the standard "redneck life issues" word mix, put on one of the same 5 melodies used by hundreds of country stars of the last 50 years, in the same whiney voice indistinguishable from any other male country singer aged 18-49. Automatically buying everything in this genre of music is a part of the standard redneck programming. It cannot fail.

If it's not the sound, it must be the image. Looking at this gigantic douche must be turning the rednecks off cause he doesn't look like one of them at all. To sell him to that demographic they need to: 1) lose the metrosexual beard and haircut, 2) lose the glasses - have you ever seen a redneck wearing glasses? let alone designer ones, and 3) lose the smug look on his face! Oh wait, that's not going to happen.

Yeah you can fail easy at a country career- ask Phil Stacey. Although I hear Phil is going quite well now with his new Christian music career. This shitty new song by Gokey is worse than the other- it doesn't even have a tune- but they through in all these country instruments to make it country- he's horrible- I hate him.

How badly does this song FAIL? Well...

If the song was a royal guard:

If the song was a tattoo:

<a href="http://media.photobucket.com/image/fail/topheng/Funny Fail/tattoo_fail.jpg?o=29" target="_blank"><img src="http://i847.photobucket.com/albums/ab35/topheng/Funny%20Fail/tattoo_fail.jpg" border="0"></a>

If the song was a car:

<a href="http://media.photobucket.com/image/fail/topheng/Funny Fail/fail3.jpg?o=90" target="_blank"><img src="http://i847.photobucket.com/albums/ab35/topheng/Funny%20Fail/fail3.jpg" border="0"></a>

Finally, if the song was a basketball player:

<a href="http://media.photobucket.com/image/fail/RaptureMan66/Fail.jpg?o=12" target="_blank"><img src="http://i572.photobucket.com/albums/ss161/RaptureMan66/Fail.jpg" border="0"></a>

I think that pretty much sums it up, don't you?

Couldn't listen to 30 seconds of it. T.J. that tattoo is one of the scariest things I've ever seen, even worse than this:

Why would somebody do that to themselves?!? There's Sparkle Cow crazy, then theirs, "I'm gonna make myself look like the birthchild of a cow and a demon and it will be awesome!" crazy.
