Hey it's a high C, a pass, but only. Truly, if she hadn't dived straight into samey samey material after the first minute I might have liked the songs but...

Just "Feel Love" is a 1000000 X better than anything adam has put up. The lyrics especially are good. CAW CAW!!!!

I like it. She's got that sugary torch-singer voice, but her songs are upbeat enought not to put me to sleep.

"Incomplete" sounded too much like she was trying to be someone other than herself. Her natural voice is unusual and it's a lot of why I liked her so much on AI. The vibrato when you least expect it, catching her voice as though in tears (but musically, a la Roy Orbison), earnest gasping (but again, musically), and even the pitch imperfections -- all added together to produce something genuine. A lot of that is lost in the production on "Incomplete." I like "Feel Love" a lot more. It sounds like she's been working hard on improving her skills, but this song retains the fun spark of her personality better. (The lyrics fit the cute mother and son picture she chose for the single art, too.) I agree that I'd like to hear an album from her outside the pop radio expectations. I want to see commercial success for Megan, but not at the cost of losing what makes her unique. The bluegrass performance on the s8 finale was awesome, for example. I'm not sure about the trip hop suggestion the poster above made -- you can always hear a smile in Megan's voice. The AI judges kept parroting the Adele comparison, but she could also be a new Peggy Lee or Patsy Cline. That route worked for LeeAnn Rimes.

It's a common problem with AI alums: that karaoke competition suppresses originality and creates wannabee clones of successful acts. Megan is trying to be the next Lily Allen, but the original Lily Allen is still there, so Megan is going to lose the comparison. The same is the case with Allison Iraheta trying to emulate Miley Cyrus. And Adam Lambert who can't decide if he wants to be Pink or Lady Gaga. At least this season is more interesting than the last: David Cook became a clone of Daughtry who is already a Nickelback clone!

These comments are pretty funny. Yeah she was awesome as VFTW pick, but she has absolutely zero talent and both songs are shit.

they were ok...I didn't hear one "caw caw" though....left me disappointed. She couldn't sing live for sh*t on AI...I suspect there has been a lot of artistry on the sound tech guys parts that helped her in the recording booth here...
