The one thing that is "rampant" are Lambert's excuses.

Lambert has disregarded the gay community for months and now because he has gotten some of shows canceled is not because of homophobia...it's because he thought he was an established artist, but was just an up-start thinking he was. Lambert knew he was part of 19E and 19E doesn't go for shock...they go for schlock. The problem with Lambert was he already thought he was a star in his own mind.

Yes, the performance sucked and yes he made a really stupid judgment call thinking he could get away with that, but he is most DEFINATELY getting banned because some big sponsor doesn't like the GAY. Everyone should have a problem with that even if they don't like Adam Lambert.

I'm glad you spoke up manlambda, I've been getting this tone of agression from the posters here too. I didn't want to discuss this because I knew that several worsters would just call us sparklefrau for being against the homophobic censorship. And yes I DO BELIEVE the censorship is for that reason.

I want to stress that I CAN"T STAND Madam. Can't stand his music, his poser attitude, his ego, or his shrieking. But I agree, this double standard and homophobia (and I'm not a cow or tard) and I believe that the way Madam is being treated by ABC is wrong. ABC can't handle his gay sexual undertones in his performance, so they decide to ban him from other performances. That right there is gay censorship. Laugh at his FAIL of a career for his shitty music and douchebag attitude, but gay censorship is not funny. As a gay man, it irks me that ABC is continuing to pull this crap and that us worsters, because we hate Adam so much are blind to this fact.

^^^^^^ Let me chime in, especially for you younger folks.

In the 50s, Elvis was considered outrageous by many, especially the fundies. Elvis persisted, society got used to his style, and he persevered.

In the 60s, The Beatles were considered outrageous by many, especially the older generation who was shocked by the hair. Society got used to it, they persevered.

In the late 60s, Tiny Tim was considered outrageous by many for his high voice and flamboyant style. Society got used to it, and he's considered tame by today's standards.

And then there were the Smothers Brothers and their comedy which was deemed too racy at that time. But it eventually got accepted, and is tame by today's standards.

In the examples above, all of them went "too far" for their day, but they survived it while society slowly accepted it. Problem with Lambert is that he went WAY WAY WAY too far, and society isn't nearly ready to accept that yet. Had he toned his outrageousness down to the levels of Tiny Tim and Elvis for their time, people (especially the fundies) might have been outraged, but maybe not to the point of getting all his subsequent TV appearances cancelled.

Unfortunately, homophobia is still present in our society, as well as racism. Society has made progress, but not quite THAT much progress as Lambert demonstrated. I don't know if something like Lambert's performance will ever be considered tame, at least in my lifetime.

To sum it up, Lambert just went too far, plain and simple.

some sparkling cows showed adam lambert's AMA performances to their kids, one of the children is only 3 year old. AI has removed those threads but I still can find them.

Well said Adam!! My 3 year old son is a big fan and he can sing your songs almost word for word, even your new songs!! As a matter of fact he usually request your new songs over his beloved Idol performances! He was also front and center to see your AMA performances and he sang right along with you! My little boy is home schooled, does not need day care and keeps the hours I choose! He is a sweet loving polite child and you are his Idol! When he is old enough to understand your performances or any of the others on the AMA I will explain them to him!! I do not plan to wait for a rock star, movie star, or any other person on earth to explain the way of the world to him!! I plan to take that responsibility for myself!! If I ever have a problem with my son watching you or anyone else I will stop him until he can make that choice for himself!! My son was up close to see you in Memphis and he will be up as close as possible to see you on your on tour!! My whole family loves you and one performance that may not have been perfect is not gonna change that fact!! You are a breath of fresh air in a stale industry and that is why so many are running scared!! I think that maybe GMA should leave the U.S.A and broadcast in North Korea or China where a few people decide what the majority get to see and hear!! I plan to protest their decision to cancel you and I am now an avid viewer of the Early Show!! Adam keep being yourself and you will be O.K. Don't apologize for anything!!

Another cow ID: nycfan1717, posted this:

I allowed my children to view this performance, they are much older than 3 years old. But that was MY choice, and no one is going to take that right away from me or make me feel bad about it. I've been parenting for 18 years and my children are doing great in every aspect of their lives.

These cows are crazy, they are proud of showing Lambert's fake oral sex to their kids, even used it as homeschooling teaching material.

What I see the Adam Lambert supporters saying is that forcing yourself on somebody, with a kiss or a crotch, is perfectly normal gay behavior. Leading around a couple of guys in S&;M harnesses and reins is what the "gay" lifestyle is all about. Straight performers have done this sort of thing before and let's conveniently forget all about the outrage and protest of them. The outrage and protest of Lambert is homophobic because we say it is. There is no real difference between society eventually accepting the Beatles' long hair or Elvis's dancing and Lambert giving a big "Fuck You" (literally) to society. That Elvis was unfailingly polite and humble with his audience in public means nothing.

If that's what you want me, a heterosexual, to think of you, as gays, then that's your choice. I guess Perez Hilton really does accurately represent you as a group.

No not really. I think that people who thought the AMA performance was appropriate are just big giant douchebags and you love it when Adam fills you up. Whether you're gay or not has nothing to do with it. But it is kind of funny, so keep on tarding for him.

Machiavellian Temptress Gypsy

I showed the performance to my kid, just so we could laugh our asses off together. Then we rewound and laughed some more.

Homophobia is serious and chronic in this country. But kids, this ain't it. This is the reaction to bad judgment, plain and simple. This is what happens when you are too stupid to know what's appropriate for mainstream network television. Madam proved himself to be an idiot and a loose cannon, and nobody wants to put him on their show.

Funny that he's going to go on Leno. Clearly he hasn't heard all the Lambert jokes Jay's been telling.

I understand the idea of society progression and maybe Madam going too far, but many other artists have also gone farther than he did in that shitty performance. Marilyn Manson for example for his freaky performances on stage. Let's not forget he was blamed for Columbine by the moral police.

I am annoyed at how Lambert's frau are taking this up as a gay rights issue, while ignoring real issues like the fight for gay civil rights in marriage and the military, however it doesn't mean that I can't be annoyed by the censorship. I guess to me, I don't have a problem with very sexual tones in performances. S&;M doesn't bother me, but it doesn't represent me or the gay community. If it bothers some people ok, but he shouldn't be punished for some people not liking what they see.

I also remember a time when our dear new idol judge, Ellen Degeneres, was also attacked by the moral police and labeled a "degenerate" and ABC was running scared then too. Than they ended up taming her to the point where she is now just a eunuch on her daytime show. I love Ellen, but we have to admit she has become so tame and sexless now. Is that what we want as a society? To have our performers be tame and sexless? Many celebrities like Anderson Cooper and Jodie Foster are living in fear of their homosexuality and not showing it in their professions. To me open expression of your sexuality is something that should be celebrated.

Yes, Adam doesn't give a shit about the gay community, anyone can see that. But I do care about the gay community, and censorship to me is wrong in any forms. I don't want it to seem like I'm criticizing the worsters, because that's not my intention. I just wanted to express how I felt about this matter. Maybe I'm just too much of an idealist on gay rights.

<gets off soapbox> That's all I'm gonna say about this topic. I'm done. When the hell is the next season gonna start?

Funny, I've never seen Marylin Manson perform on prime time broadcast tv. Ellen made her choice, so do straight people, she was only mildly funny to begin with and all this "oh boo hoo I'm being persecuted" she went through several years ago was pathetic. I'm not very funny either, do I get a tv career? Anderson Cooper is just an overrated news reader and press release reader, ok, he paraphrases the press releases. Jodie Foster, I didn't even know she was gay, because she obviously is a well-adjusted adult who doesn't want to show her twat on tv. Lambert does, except he doesn't have one.
