Simon IS American Idol. Guess this will be either the final season or the final season that anyone will give two shits about.

Bring on The X-Factor, I guess.

Simon is the only reason I keep watching. Worsters make it entertaining. Love him or not, his comments and predictions consistently are very accurate. This is the death knell. Without Simon, there's very little left of AI.

I'm seriously feeling a mega-storm of epic fail making its way to American Idol. It should be here in January 2011. AI has had pretty big fail-storms before, but I believe this one will surpass anything I'm expecting. I better go stock up on popcorn. Also, while I do believe AI will become a shit-fest like we've never seen in season 10, I do feel that the show will not be canceled. In different countries, shows similar to AI have replaced judges multiple times. I think America will do the same. That doesn't mean the changes will make the show anyless crappier, but changes all the same.

I think that there is a possiblility that there could be a season 10. But the season will be blander and more flat than usual, with losing fans and ratings. After that, the series seems grim. HELL YEAH!

Season 10 will be it, unless they can entice Dicko over to step in. Merkan X Factor will be so homogenised and bland compared to the UK one, it will be Whitney Houston melisma for groups. No chance of a Jedward explosion, sadly.

If they can cast another nasty brit with better credentials(that part shouldn't be to hard) than Simon, I don't see why AI's ratings wouldn't stay the same or even get better. Don't know about anyone else, but as time when on and Simon tired of the show I was getting tired of him. Maybe others feel the same way and will give X Factor a pass. I know I won't bother to tune into XF especially if Simon doesn't bring Paula on board the new show.

Love to hate the show we may, American Idol is still a huge draw even if they lose half of their audience. Tuesday's show was 13.8 and Wednesday's results show was 14.4. With that in mind, the higher rated of the two was actually the one Simon wouldn't be talking very much in. Maybe audiences have already spoken - they'd rather watch someone get kicked to the curb than watch singers and judges perform their roles!

American Idol with no Simon or Paula, and just Seacrust and Randy from the old pack? Yeah, if there does happen to be a season 10, it will tank. And yet, I won't be sorry to see him go. No way I'm watching that horse's ass on an American X Factor.

I second what Smartie said: Season 10. After Simon leaves this season, they'll attempt to keep spirits high and go on with some other poseur foreign cantankerous wanker for one more season, but it will perhaps be *the* single-most criticized season of all, they'll realize there's just no hope left, and they'll can the shit. I'm just looking forward to more Pauler (hopefully) on TXF. Please be cracked-out <3.
