(None of these contestants are 100% confirmed in Hollywood, but we have sources that suggest they've made it to Hollywood for season 9 of American Idol)

Katelyn Clampett is a singer originally from North Carolina who graduated from the Berklee College of Music in 2009. While there, she won a Performer/Songwriter Showcase and Songwriting Competition in 2008. Her music was used on the Golf Channel for 2009 Nationwide Tour coverage. She has an interesting voice that's a little weak but has some charm to it. And her original song "Water Them Down" (above) is sort of catchy. So we'll give her a chance. We'll see what she's like come Hollywood week.

She looks a bit like Sarah Michelle Geller.  Sounds interesting too.  I hope she has a personality.  The video was boring.

That song is playing it really safe. I feel like that song is terrified of standing out from the other songs on the playground. It doesn't want to be laughed at or beat up, so it doesn't take any risks or do anything that might make someone notice it. I want to sing "Desperado" to that song.

I was wondering if she was any relation to "Jed Clampett"...

Reminds me a little of Brooke White- singer/songwriter, pretty, pleasant voice with a nice tone but no fancy tricks. I can see her in the top 12 but I can also see her vanishing in the process.

Kinda reminds me of Ayla Brown, and I do agree that she has a certain charm about her. I'd like to see more of her.

I think she looks more like Sweet Dee from "Always Sunny." I don't know, she's good but they all sound the same. Maybe I'm just having a bad day today?

Why doesn't she qualify as a plant? I'm confused by the criteria.

Not to say I didn''t find her charmingly off-beat either, I just don't get what separates her from others who have had videos and record deals.

Brooke White meets Megan Joy. Could be fun.

Plants have industry connections and former record deals. This girl just won some college awards and got her songs played during a golf tournament. Not exactly the big leagues. Compare that to Carly Smithson's major label debut, Kristy Lee Cook's Arista contract and connection with Britney Spears' personal record label, etc. This girl isn't a plant... unless we find more on her.
