The Idol we know today is done. AI 10 will go through, but it will be terrible, even by AI's standards. Expect AI to be over by its fifteenth season, maybe even before that.

I like to see American X-Factor yeh, but I've been watching UK X-Factor and Simon was really annoying coz he was so biased when he gave comments. When it's the act belong to other judges, he'll criticised (which is what he always do) but when it's his act, he even give standing ovation although his act wasn't really good.

X factor was amazing this year! Full of backstage drama and Simon was sabotaging Danny Minoque's clearly more talented contestant's and backing Cheryl Cole's pitchy trainwreks. They were just hating each other from september through christmas. Hope Paula knows how hardly earned those millions will be. If you think idol is fixed, wait for this one.

Idol did not even start and the focus is (surprisingly!) on the judges (two of them at least). Will anybody aside this site be even interested in the contestants this year? This is going to be the biggest mess ever. And Ellen will probably leave after season 9. And DAWG will be senior judge next year. HA ha HAHA

It's just one exploiter trying to replace another exploiter. Nothing will change. What do the Brits call it? Ah, yes SPONGING.

This could mean not only the end of American Idol, but the end of TV altogether.

Is Fox really going to keep on AI and X-Factor? One in the fall and one in the spring or something? Perhaps NBC should pick-up AI when Fox drops it...I mean, what are they planning to put in place of Jay Leno now that he's getting booted back to late night?

I have to tell you that though I don't always agree with Simon - certainly giving Adam Lambert a standing ovation cemented my opinion that Simon has no clue about talent. He always complained when the contestests SCREAMED yet never said one word about the shreiker MADAM. I agreed with Clay Aiken (sorry) when he said that listening to Lambert made him want to put pencils in his ears. So true...

Simon often doesn't know the songs the contestants sing &; how it should sound, etc. BUT, he's the only judge I cared to hear from just because he is honest with his opinion, is nasty &; doesn't sugar coat it with "You look lovely...(Paula says that when she really has nothing good to say about the singer), or Randy with his limited vocabulary &; name dropping. Kara is a mess, I CAN'T stand her &; don't give a crap what she has to say. I think Ellen will be funny (yes, it's about the judges &; not the contestants to "entertain" us) but she's be too nice &; think everyone is good. She'll be doing stand-up comedy as a judge, mark my words.

I think that a lot of people watch that show just to laugh &; hear Simon being outrageous. There was always a banter between him &; Ryan Seacrest - mostly gay type inferences which got old, but even that with Glambert on the show who was so obviously gay, they toned it down or were told to cut it out. So what the heck would Ryan &; Simon discuss now? - nothing.

I thought it was funny when Simon would roll his eyes when Paula went on &; on &; then he would say he had no clue what the hell she just said - true, I didn't know either what she said.

I will miss Simon &; I don't think they will find a replacement for him. The only person I would think that could replace him is that Piers guy from UK's Britain's Got Talent. He's got the same kind of sense of humor (love that dry wit that Brits have).

Come to think of it, it's quite possible that Simon will ask Paula to be a judge on his new show so the dynamics of two former Idol judges might just kill Idol &; move people over to X-Factor. Everything must come to and end. Paula drove Simon crazy but he's always said that if she left, he would also.

As far as him making way too much money for what he does well, it he can get it, why not. Ryan makes tons too - way more than he deserves.

4 years overdue. AI had reached its expiration date with Taylor Hicks. Simon should have brought over X Factor right after its first successful year in UK.

Anyone think that Rahm Emmanuel's brother, the guy that posted earlier, really thought we wouldn't figure out who he was?
