>This just shows the people who work on the show are lazy and incompetent. Or as I tend to believe, deceptive and dishonest. A lot of stuff in the world that is atrributed to simple incompetence is really an effect of purposeful evil.

^^ I've lived in Chicago all my life. We have a few palm trees at Navy Pier, but they're indoor. And in the summer, I think they transplant a few at some of the beaches, but not many. Those clips were obviously filmed in Orlando. Just compare them to what you see on tonight's episode (Orlando).

Sloppy editing of auditions on AI is nothing new. Clearly the initial gathering of contestants is done in one place and the auditions before the judges is in another, for example. I may be wrong, but I don't think they ever explain that on Idol. The 20,000 auditioning in Chicago was likely at the All-State Arena in Rosemont, Illinois. And, from the city view during auditions before the judges, I'd say they were at the Hyatt Regency at 151 E. Wacker Drive in downtown Chicago. At one point in the broadcast they showed a montage of bad singers. Then, near the end of the show, Ryan was standing next to the remaining audition contestants saying they had the final chances to receive a golden ticket. Among the group were some who had already been shown failing in their auditions. Again, sloppy editing.

I noticed that also. For a second I doubted myself and thought it was possible there may be a few, somewhere. But then my brain was screamed NOOOOO! It is another crock of garbage coming from Idol. This show sucks, and the auditions so far have been more pathetic than ever. Apart from General Larry Platt and Skii Bo Ski, I have not enjoyed a measly second of them otherwise. Boooo!

^^ Yours is still orders of magnitude better. His has a tacit approval of Idol's shenanigans (it's just "show business;" can't make an omlette without breaking a few eggs), while yours calls them on the carpet for it, and rightly so. They're unethical, and it shouldn't be allowed to be explained away or excused.
