Even though Chris Sligh was kicked off Idol, his band Half Past Forever is competing to try to win a contest on Music Nation.com. The grand prize is a recording contract with Epic, which would probably be better than the crappy contract the Idol winner will get anyway. So head on over here and give Chris 5 stars to help him out, and hopefully he'll win the contest. Hey, if the guy is ballsy enough to say "Hi, Dave" on the show, the least we can all do is help his band out, so make sure to vote!

I don't think winning would benefit Chris, would it? I mean, AI has pretty strict contracts with all of its contestants. I understand that it'd be the band that would get the recording contract (thus include Chris), but I don't know how far the AI control freaks go in terms of their contracts.

This is so much better than the derivative crap on the radio now. At least HPF doesn't sound like some Nickelback clone the way PWE's band does. Go Sligh!!! GO HPF!!!

Yeah, maybe there's a 'group' or 'pairs' loophole like in 'Blades of Glory' - great movie by the way...

And if it wasn't for American Idol, the public--as well as the wonderful dave--would be saying, "Chris who?" That show gave this kid his start..now it's up to him to take advantage of it. You bash Idol, but without it... hey.. it would have taken him a lot longer to get out there. Good luck, Chris. BTW, why the hell didn't he go acoustic on the show?! It's all about arrangement, son.
