Is Randy Jackson Leaving American Idol After This Season Too?

Finally, the judge that should've been gone a long time ago is possibly being shown the door. Popcrunch is reporting that Fox is trying to revamp the show and might get rid of Randy since the other 2 original judges will be gone. The article says, "Randy was basically told that there was a very good chance he was not going to be asked back after this season." It's no loss. Randy has never contributed anything worthwhile to the judging panel. He and Kara are competing to see who can be the most worthless and annoying this season, and it's finally catching up to him. Unlike how sad we were to see our boozehound Paula Rehabdul go, Randy won't be missed by anyone if he's given the pink slip.

YAY! This is great news! But they have to get rid of Kara the stomach-turner too. So then with whom will they fill the voids? We'll have Ellen, Stern (oh god i wish!) and...it's gotta be a black person with some musical background....Stevie Wonder? How awesome would that be?!

OK, let me replace this accidental double post with a further comment...Stevie Wonder would be a great replacement because, as someone said in another thread, he'd judge solely on how the contestants sound. But also because it would be so awkward for the other judges to comment on how the contestants look.

Whomever they choose, this bodes well for the Stern possibility: Only a complete revamp could make him a serious contender for a judgeship.

How about replacing Randy with Kanye West? He seems to have no problem offering an opinion. (While they're at it, replace Kara with Katy Perry)

After the losses of Paula and Simon, nobody with any self-respect is going to agree to be a judge on AI. AI's days are numbered -- this show may have one more season, if that. I predict that X-Factor, or whatever Simon's other show is called, will take it's place

But how are we going to get by without Randy's invaluable contributions, like Yo, Dawg or calling all the women Man.

This fat blob is a relic from the 80s that should've been put down a decade ago. They could replace him with a boulder and no one would notice.

Yo Dawg, did they finally wake up and realize they hired the wrong Randy Jackson?

Dream Judge Lineup -

Howard Stern (for obvious reasons)

Ellen (I like her, so deal with it)

Katy Perry (let's get somebody relevant and heavily opinionated on the judging panel)

Why it won't happen:

- AI will not match Stern's Sirius contract. They gave Simon a bazillion dollars to keep him around. They are too smart to START the bar at $100 million.

- Stern could be ratings poison if the key Middle American audience boycotts just on principle, and eventually he'd be completely neutured on broadcast TV. Even FOX can only take so much.

- Katy Perry prefers touring to sitting around judging some idiots stumbling around doing bad karaoke for 15 weeks every year. Although she would make a boatload more money...

- Network execs would make the show diversify and have at least one black judge.

With our luck though, they'd replace Randy with Posh Beckham. She was the most prominently featured guest judge this year (3 total days, I think?). They seem to like her... I don't know why. She has the personality of a beige wall.

to the person who said they should replace Kara with Katy Perry: katy wouldn't be as entertaining if she didn't have Kara to fight with, so they should keep both of them and let them argue.

I liked Doogie as a judge too. Katy, Doogie, Howard and Ellen (I like her too) would be my dream panel.
