Patti LaBelle Doesn't Think the American Idol Judges are Qualified

In what should be painfully obvious, Patti LaBelle has taste. Patti isn't happy with the caliber of judges on American Idol, saying, "some of the judges, I don't think they're qualified to even judge." You mean an obscure bass player from Journey, the guy who produced the Teletubbies and Power Rangers albums, the person who wrote songs for Paris Hilton and Ashlee Simpson, and a random comedienne with no musical experience aren't qualified to judge a musical competition? Get out! LaBelle says she was approached to judge Idol before Paula abdul, but she turned it down. Being that the show's judges have become such jokes, we think she made the right choice.

Is about damn time people in the industry, legitimate people, speak out against the bastardization of the record industry and the general rape and abortion that american idol is to music as a whole.

I agree 100 percent. If they like someone they use kid gloves. Jermane's performace was horrible and everyone but Simon glossed over it. Others who performed, and I thought were good, they eviscerated verbally! It should be "constructive criticism" not "you look like your mother dressed you" or I like the "tails" you are wearing. I would enjoy seeing Patty as a judge. I always go to see her when she is in Pittsburgh. I am handicapped and think that the young lady with the facial disorder was a much better singer than some on the show now. Why did they bring the guy back? More "eye candy" as was mentioned?
