Didn't she guest judge on AI a long time ago? I wonder if she thinks it was a plus or minus or a wash that Paula isn't on this year?

ok although the judges do make some pretty dumbass decisions..

they're all very qualified (except ellen. even though i like her)

simon, randy, and kara all work in the music industry so they know what good music sounds like, and what sells.

kara is actually an amazing singer, so she know alot about vocals. i recommend youtubing her.

and ellen is still an entertainer so that counts for something.
