Hundreds? Thousands? Like that's going to make a dent in the 30 million or so that vote for Idol? Do you truly understand the difference between a thousand and a million? As for "evidence" of this site's impact there is no such evidence. Sanjaya is getting attention, sure, but so are the other idols. If he's getting any more it's because people are surprised he's still on the show, especially after the judges have all criticized him. I'm thinking most of Sanjaya's support has come from pre-teen girls.

How can this site have any impact? You can't even get 100 different commenters per posting. If you can't even get that, how is it so many vote for AI?

You and the rest of the supporters of VFTW are all delusional.

You would be surprised. The record companies and corporations that run Fox also have a firm hold on the government.

-James

Hey James, I have an Airline I want you to fund. It would be a better use of your time and effort rather than typing misspelled crap like this. Of course, you're no richer than the rest of America, most of which is in debt. Have fun in that make believe world you call reality, for it's only a paper moon, hanging over a muslin tree.

You said on your website the lawyer made stupid arguments like 12 year olds. Well I am young and I am mature. First of all this website is interfering with the show. I agree people that sing good got kicked off like Stephanie and Chris. That is because of this illegal website. People have lawyers you know! So many people want to sue you write now and everyone that joined it like former contestants from past seasons that were not good enough for this show. All you are doing is hurting Sanjaya. Since he knows he isn't as good as the other contestants when he keeps not going home OR being in the bottom three he thinks he is good. This website is illegal and I just proved that even little 12 year old, as you like to say, can be mature and not stupid.

-Peyton

Wow....People have Lawyers?? What if they *are* lawyers? does that count too? As I may have stated previously, not sure though, this site is:

1 - perfectly legal

2 - not actionable in any way

In addition, you who are threatening to sue need to:

1 - re-read you constitution (although since I know you are too lazy to do it, I will include the relevant pieces here)

--Amendment 1 -Ratified 12/15/1791

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

--Amendment 10 -Ratified 12/15/1791

The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.

Ok, so what does all of this mean?

Simply put it means the following. You can not regulate harmless free speech. Now, the Supreme Court has held that speech which does not cause harm, the "dangerous speech" rule, is not bared by law. By harm, the court has clarified that it means physical harm. As Justice Oliver Wendell Homles, Jr. pointed out in Schenck v. United States, 249 U.S. 47, 1919, the First Amendment would not protect a person "falsely shouting fire in a theatre and causing a panic." This remains the test applied by the Supreme Court in cases where an application of an otherwise valid law, is in question. So the question any of you would be kiddie jurists need to ask yourself it this. Does this website cause physical injury through it's existence to a clearly defined group of people. By the by, physical injury does not include "having your feelings hurt." As the answer to that question is no, then we have to move on to the next Amendment, number 10.

Ok, what does this Amendment do? Basically what this does is apply the Federal Constitution to the Sates. Ok, so we have now established that the First Amendment is applied to the States, however you're still unhappy with this result. What can you do about it?

Well, instead of suing, the Constitution offers you a free out. A Get out of Jail Free cad for those of you who play Monopoly. What is that card you ask? Well, let's look at the last line of the First Amendment again.

-or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.-

Ah ha! There we go! You have the right to peaceably assemble (That means no attacking, harrassing, threatening, ect.), and to petition the Government (That means you can, in writting or by proclamation (aka your spoken words) take your complaints to the Congress of the United States (Legislative Branch), the President of the United States (Executive Branch) or the Unites States Supreme Court (Judicial Branch)), for a redress of grievances (That means you can ask them to solve your problems).

Now, think this through. FOX is makig a great deal of moey off of American Idol. FOX already has a great deal of money to begin with. What is money used for? Well, for one, to lobby politicians. So let's say you do petition the Government for a redress of your grievances. FOX will be there saying to the congress men and women they helped get elected, "Ignore his. They are a bunch of morond who don't understand mass marketing."

FOX doesn't want his site down as it is promoting the show. I refer you to P.T. Barnum, one of the greatest showman of all time. He had a famous saying "I don't care what they say about me as long as they spell my name right." (Also attributed to Tallulah Bankhead). Every hit on this site is another person watching Idol, which equates to more advertising dollars. I wouldn't be surprised if a law suit against this site would see an amicus brief filed on their behalf by FOX who loves the publicity.

And that kiddies is your civics, politics and legal lesson for the day. Please feel free to reply with questions and the Professor will gladly help clarify the more extraneous concepts for your purile minds.
