Let's Get Sanjaya His Very Own Day

Blake Lewis gets one in his hometown. Gina Glocksen gets one in her hometown. But Federal Way, Washington has decided to be lame and not give Sanjaya Malakar his very own day, issuing the statement, "Federal Way has more important things to deal with and unless a council member tried to push through a proclamation, then that Idol wannabe should not expect a similar honor." What a terrible idea! So we here at VFTW want you to write to Mayor Mike Park and Deputy Mayor Jim Ferrell to let them know that Sanjaya deserves his very own day! Click "Read More" to read, copy, and paste the letter written by Gregoire from Survivor Sucks, it's really good, funny, and true.

(Below is the letter. Feel free to copy this one or write your own!)

Dear (insert name),

I am writing to share my annoyance with the city council of Federal Way, who have not followed suit with other towns around the great United States and bestowed their most popular citizen with a day in their honor. I of course mean Sanjaya Malakar, presently one of the most popular people in the world at the moment and the face of Federal Way to the rest of the world.

Blake Lewis' hometown, also in Washington, has happily bestowed this honor upon him, and he has nowhere the visibility of Mr. Malakar.

It would be in your best interest to reconsider this slight, as I'm sure you wouldnt want a reputation as a town unsupportive of its citizens. I wouldnt want people to think 'if they dont even support their most famous resident, what of the smaller man, the poor?'

I would also hope that you would want to stave off any whispers of possible racism due to Mr Malakar's heritage. You wouldnt want the doors of your fine city hall building to be branded in the red blood of institutionalized racism.

Thank you for your time and attention.

Bunch of meanies.

Anyway, Sanjaya is not the worst. In a way, he is the best. He is by far, the most clever, more ingenious, most strategic-thinking contestant AI has ever had. He may not have the strongest vocals, but he is one of the best on-stage performers, and for my money, the best all around entertainer of the group.

AI is not about singing, as we all know. It is about entertainment. To that end, I believe that Sanjaya would be an appropriate winner. I believe that he could sell more CDs than any of the others remaining. He can't sing rock. He voice is no good for that. But love ballads and softer songs, he can do well. His performance this week was the most skillful of the group. I think he deserves to win, not because he is the worst, because he is the best. Not the best singer, but the best entertainer. And in the end, that is what this business is all about.

I agree with you Fred! I like Sanjaya. I didn't at first, but like I said before he kind of grew on me. I think it is kind of messed up how they are treating him. He deserves his own day. He is up there having a good time, entertaining us like the show is supposed to. I love his different hair styles, and his personality. I have to admitt I was pretty harsh on him at first, but I don't know there is somthing about him.

I know a lot of people on this site want the show to end, but I don't. I like AI. I just think that this season isn't so hot. Before I started liking Sanjaya, I was kind of disappointed and almost thought about not watching it anymore. But, ever since I came on here, the wierd thing is, is that everytime it is on I have to watch now.

I don't think he is the worst anymore, this sight made me like him more and to see the good things about him. I mean he is only a teen, and he gets up there every week and performs despite all of this negativity so I have to give him props for that.

He does deserve it. And I might even buy a CD. No, I'd really need a video release to continue being a supporter. Preferably with a fauxhawk involved. :)

From your command of the English language I assume your reading skills are not terribly advanced either.....otherwise you probably would have spent some time reading this site and understanding the concept of it.

Read http://www.votefortheworst.com/auditions for starters. Then get back to me, ok?
