Hello Dave. I don't know whether or not these messages actually go to you or one of your employees or whether you just make up your own "mail bag" e-mails, but I KNOW you won't post this letter. I wanted to tell you in case, you haven't figured it out yet, that you're trapped. This site is probably a huge source of income to you. One of the points of the site is to end the show. You do realize that once the show is taken off the air, you can kiss your income good-bye. No more extra tens of thousands of dollars for you. But you can't tell people to stop ruining the show because that would ruin your income too. So no matter what you do, your site and money will be gone within a year. I 'm just telling you because you've ruined so many singers careers, I just wanted to let you know that your career is about to be ruined too. I had heard much about your site so I finally went there, with both curiosity and disturbance. Your attempt to rationalize the Vote for the Worst concept is a disappointment. There is no rationale for it. Your site holds the potential to deprive talented, hard-working individuals of their dreams and make a mockery of less talented ones. Perhaps you are correct on one point: American Idol reaps what it has sown every time a lemming goes to your site and votes according to your sophomoric instruction. It is true that AI humiliates contestants in order to draw early ratings. That is why mature viewers wait until the final 12 contestants before tuning in to the program.
No doubt you have been effective; nothing to be proud of, however. Taylor Hicks was terrible. The correct finish should have been Chris Daughtry, Elliott Yamin and Kat McPhee, with Hicks long gone weeks earlier. So, you got that one, but I think their post-Idol record sales are indicative of their true standings among American music consumers. Hicks is fading fast.
This year, thankfully, you've failed. Sanjaya is gone. Blake, Melinda and Jordin are all extremely talented and deserving of a top 3 finish in any order, although my personal preference is [1] Melinda, [2] Jordin, [3] Blake.
I hope that you grow up someday. Since that will likely take a long while, I hope your web site fails sooner. And, I hope against hope that the lemmings who simultaneously feed and suck off America's pop culture learn to appreciate and respect what matters most in this life -- integrity, honesty, and character. I knew the misspell and CAPSLOCKED rage would get your attention. It's rather hypocritical that you'd only choose to feature comments from embarrasing idiots and morons on your website for the purpose of ridicule and entertainment.
I've got no problem with the concept of this website, but I do have a huge problem with the outrageous hypocracy and the astounding downplay of your ulterior motive. You couldn't get rich and famous through the Idol competition (yes, there is an element of competition to this reality show), so you "bash" the television show in order to get rich and famous. If Idol weren't as popular as it is now, you'd have no visitors to your site. No visitors = revenue from advertising. No revenue = no website.
If you and your idiot cohorts have failed to understand that Idol is a television show and its main purpose is to keep audiences entertained and tuned in so they can make $$$ from advertising, then you and cohorts are truly naive idiots but that would also mean that the motives behind this website are pure. But seeing that your website is absolutely drenched in advertising and is displaying "minimal at best" graphics and design, you must be making a profit. So I know there's $$$. That being said, your appearances on Letterman and Stern and other lame-ass shows equal fame. Too bad both of things mean that A) you're not going to be a millionaire any time soon and B) you'll be forever known as the "VFTW guy". Sucks for you. Well, I hate seeing you guys get verbally assaulted by asses every day, so I wanted to send somethings a little bit different, I love your site! I hated your cause at first, I'll admit, but then the week Sanjaya lost came around, I was by no means cheering for him, but his loss seemed very hollow to me. I missed him and the humor he added to the show, of coarse, I was too late to help his cause, but LaKisha and Phil got my votes, and now Blake is getting mine. The best part is that you can't lose with this site, you either get a truly bad person that is fun to watch, or someone you like, I liked Phil and I still like Blake, get votes regardless. I read all those "About Me" things and how American Idol is rigged but if it was rigged, do you think that Sanjaya would have made it as far as he had? I didn't think so... I think this site is a little ridiculous. What exactly is your definition of the 'worst' anyways? I'll admit Sanjaya was fucking terrible, but Blake is quite talented and a good entertainer. He has a better image overall than the girls and can dance 10 times better which is key in becoming a performer in the music business. Plus if they all put out albums you can't honestly say Blake would sell the least. Vocal wise he's the weakest but has the best overall grasp of what American Idol and American pop music in general is all about. Whoever runs this site is clearly bored and running out of ideas, and you would be really stupid to think people actually agree that Blake is the worst and will thus vote for him to prove AI wrong as that seems to be your sole purpose.

If I could see some positive coming from your actions, I would praise you endlessly. There is no shortage of injustice in this world that needs correcting by active energetic young Americans like yourself. However, I don't see you as a problem solver. I see you as adding to the problem.
American Idol is just about entertainment. They show some lousy singers because it amuses some people and they don't show some other talented ones. However, it's obvious they pick the ones they believe have the best combination of voice, physical appearance, and entertainment value to become a success in the business. Those are generally all the requirements.
If there was no downside to trying to ruin the show, I'd think you were just an idiot and give you a pass. However there is a big downside. The downside is to those contestants that make huge life sacrifices of time, energy, and other things trying to develop their talents and break into the business. When they are thrown off the show prematurely (especially before top 10) because one the lesser performers is voted in by you and your semi-retarded minions, it reduces their exposure and chances for success in their live's passion. Perhaps you are a talentless unambitious loser that can't relate to passionately wanting something in your life and that's why you don't get that what you are doing is destructive and not fun or entertaining. I'm sorry if that's the case. Perhaps, this letter will help you understand then.
However, if you do understand and you choose this path anyway, then let me say that the world would be better off if people like you were exterminated from the planet. There is already so much injustice and evil in the world, why use your energy and talents to add to it, no matter how insignificant you deem a talent show to be in the grand scheme of things.

I am a casual viewer of the American Idol show. I learned about your website from MSNBC or something. It's a great site and the mailbag is hilarious. It's just a TV show, I don't know why people take it so seriously. The amount of exposure all of these singers get almost guarantees them a record contract regardless of whether or not they win. Just take the example of Chris Daughtery. He was like fourth or fifth in his season and he is doing pretty well. Good website. If people don't like what you are doing, they should organize different websites.
