I don't see why it matters that American Idol contestants have been on Star Search.

Unless you believe that being on Star Search should give someone enough exposure to get a record deal if they deserve one, and they shouldn't get a second 'boost'.

I happen to disagree with that, because people change with time, and David Archuleta (for example) is not the same person that he was when he was 12. The 12-year-old him got a 'boost' and it didn't work. I think that the new him deserves another chance, another 'boost', but just one. If he fails again (and he probably won't), then he probably isn't worth spending our money on.

Singing lessons when he was 18 months old!!!!! No wonder he had a parlyzed vocal chord! poor guy! (I'm still not voting for him though.)
