I agree with this one. She should NOT be on the show... I'm not really excited about the guy who sang Queen and has had a successful career with a a-capella band either. This show is supposed to be for people that haven't had a chance in the music industry and deserve one. Who cares if your background was Sexy Stripper or you've done a nude photo shoot or whatever... But if you've had your big shot in the industry and blew it...too bad...you don't deserve to be on American Idol. I honestly hope this girl gets voted off the show before the final 12. Did anyone else notice her "scottish? accent" mysteriously appeared after the first show?

Bitch plays this phony motherly act with the other contestants (maybe cause she looks like she's 42) and then rejoices upon the elimination of a 17 year old? Nigel is a tool. In this article, http://www.realitytvworld.com/news/american-idol-producer-carly-smithson-controversy-not-logical-6557.php he claims that it's not against the rule for contestants to have previously been signed to a record contract. Well, no sh*t Sherlock. The problem with Carly isn't her contract it's that she previously worked with Randy. The funniest quote: "Goodness me, if Elvis Presley came back and was out of contract -- and was able to participate through [Idol's] age [restrictions] -- then he would be in the competition." God, can you imagine a morbidly obese 73 year old shaking his booty on the stage?! Gross!
