An Ex-Cast Member of Oz The Musical Shares His Experience with Todrick Hall

Top Idol has a story up where an Ex-cast member of Oz: The Musical shares her opinion of Todrick Hall and the whole musical debacle. This isn't a parent who was screwed out of money, this was someone who acted in the play.

"Unfortunately, we did not realize that this would literally be the case when we learned later on that (months after she left) Ms. DeGarmo had parted with Oz due to it’s disorganization. Our last couple of paychecks had more than likely been funded by future munchkin’s money and extended business credit loans. Numerous paychecks bounced and many of us were not even paid for the last two weeks we worked. (Let alone the pay-out of our contracts duration— set to end early September.)

Upon discovering the utterly helpless financial situation in a meeting with Mr. Money, we were canceled — stranded in Birmingham, Alabama. Todrick literally disappeared. Later we would find that he had gone to LA to direct a high school production of Oz.

5 people to a hotel room for 6 days — we were told that if we wished to be paid our final paychecks and recieve flights back to our respective homes, we would have to stay and do one last show in Birmingham. This is a situation which the law describes as entrapment. (ED note:  Not necessarily entrapment, but unlawful restraint.)"

Very interesting. So if the cast was also screwed over and was forced to do a final show or they wouldn't receive paychecks and a flight home? Todrick and his merry band of "producers" look scammier by the day. Why did he just disappear all of a sudden if he had nothing to do with what was going on? Give the kids (and the actors) back their money, Todrick.
