AOL Television has video of Nick Mitchell's appearance on The Wendy Williams Show this week. Nick (or rather Normund) discusses Ellen's dissatisfaction with the Idol lighting, Kara's transformation into Paula, and the way the judges tear off the set during commercial breaks. As always, Nick delivers the dish just how we like it.

No one even comes close this year to having Normund's personality. Miss him!

Hmmmm.... I have observed the new Kara, flirting, etc., and quite frankly, I don't like it. Why does she have to dumb herself down like that and make a fool of herself? I mean first Casey James (that was her doing) and now this... I think since she sold her sould to Idol they have this as part of the gimmick, and it's stupid.

Also I'm actually liking Ellen more and more. It's like she's afan judging and complans on lighting, other elements and really isn't falling into the Idol machine.. yet.

I'm beginning to like Ellen more, too. But the overall quality of the judging is even suckier than usual this year, just because it seems so arbitrary. In past seasons, their reactions have been pretty predictable (at least for me), but this year, it's like, roll some dice and figure out what to say. Even Simon, who I've begun to disagree with, and his wit's seem to have taken a hit this season, too.

And I have occasionally noticed the judges jumping from their seats during commercial breaks. WTF? Unless they have to take a piss, or have RLS, they can at least stay seated for their hour-long "job" that pays them obscene millions.

Every time somebody says something about Ellen as an Idol judge I am reminded of one fact that was in the original announcement - she has a 5 year contract to be a judge. Don't assume she is anything other than trying to do what the AI producers are telling her to but with her own little twists. She has adopted the AI producer approved judge's vocabulary - at least the subset that her limited music industry experience allows (eg 'pitchy').

I have to agree 100%. People forget this is a "reality" show - first, last and always. Ellen is playing the role that's been scripted for her.

While I "like" Ellen just fine (or at least the "Ellen" character she plays on TV) - she is completely worthless as a judge. She's just reading her script and throwing in her jokes and ad-libs at the places the Producers have told her to.

I also have to agree with the other posters about Kara - as worthless as she's always been, at least last year you could have the illusion that she really meant what she was saying. This year they've recast her as some sort of sexually over-revd, weepy, "Dragon Lady" &/or "Cougar" - i.e. a poor man's Pauler. And it just doesn't work. Kara has lost any faint HINT of credibility.

I'll say it again - we are watching the last "real" season of American Idull - as far as its fallen already, the show they will try to stage next year will be a shadow of what's left today.

Normund is the best thing to ever come from Idol. Sorry Kelly Clarkson, you can sing but Normund is the definition of funny.

I kinda agree with the sentiments here about the judges except I think they all suck. They should replace them with four magic 8 balls.

Ryan: Will this contestant go through to the next round?

Magic 8 ball # one: Yes.

Magic 8 ball # two: Ask again later.

Magic 8 ball # three: My vagina is cramping. (Kara's would be an adult version)

Magic 8 ball # four: Absolutely.

I'm liking Ellen just fine and Kara has just been kind of annoying. Nick/Normund as always is awesome.

I love my Magic 8 Ball! I use it often to make life altering decisions, and think it would be far more effective than any of the judging panel. Or maybe they could alternate Magic 8 Ball week with comments written on lotto balls. I'm sure Kara would approve of that.

The judges rush out during the breaks because;

1/ Cowell needs a cigarette.

2/ Randy heads off to eat the leftover cookies, Danish, pretzels, etc in the hospitality suite (the boy has to keep his weight up, you know.)

3/ Kara needs the absorbent cushion on her chair changing to prepare for the next round of leakage after the break.

4/ Ellen needs to check on the viewing figures for her other show to see if appearing on Idol is helping or hindering her chances of becoming the next Oprah and getting her own 'E" magazine.
