Well, silly me....I actually thought that it was a good idea to add Ellen to the panel. The thinking was "how much worse can it be"? At least we would have an actual music "fan" doing some judging.

However, it has all gone to crap...the judges are making arbitrary inconsistent comments, and even Ellen (who I had high hopes for) has fallen into the AI cesspool. Most unfortunate...

Anyway, here's hoping that something memorable happens b/w now and the end...

Normund is hilarious, definitely would watch his show if he had one. Kara is getting excruciatingly annoying. Simon is obviously trying to sabotage the show and doesn't give a rats *ss. And now Alex got sent home, WTF?!? Ellen is kind of funny sometimes but I don't like it when she gives Paula-esque cheerleader comments.

Nick sucks at singing. His voice sounds like Richard Simmons who is quite annoying and gross. He hides behind the Normund character to hide his mediocre singing by making a comedy out of it. People (and the judges) ignore the nasal, whiny tone in his voice thus only see the character which they find entertaining. The reason why they put through 36 contestants last year was for the producers to cast quirky and annoying personalities (with passable singing ability) like him, Tatiana, Nathaniel, and to a lesser extent Alex, Jackie, and Scott to up their ratings. Apparently, AI jumped the shark. That being said, these characters did make last year's AI more entertaining.
