It's Our Favorite Time of Year... Outrage Leads to Petitions

After tween favorite Alex Lambert was voted off of American Idol, while VFTW picks Tim Urban and Paige Miles coasted into the top 12, the fans are pissed. So they do what they always do: start a petition. This petition is even funnier than normal, because the people think if they can get 7500 signatures, Alex Lambert will clearly be allowed back on the show. It didn't work for Frenchie, it didn't work for Daughtry, it ain't gonna work for a 19 year old high school student with bad stage fright. Stay tuned for the fan outrage when Alex *gasp* isn't miraculously allowed back onto the show this week.

Don't worry for Alex, Im sure Ellen will have him on her show and have Kara write a crappy song for him.

Who would they like to be replaced? Or would they just want to make it a top 13 and have a double elimination at some point (or not)? Why stop at 13? Let's make it a top 20 (that's a nice round number) and bring some of the other eliminated semifinalists back. Weren't they "robbed" just as much? Hell, why not a top 50? Or top 100? Keep the show going 24 hours a day, 365 (366 if a leap year) days a year.

Will I, an ardent Alex fan, be signing the petition? Absolutely not. I don't know what the petitioners are trying to prove.

Baby boy needs to graduate from high school. If does write a song every day (as he claims) and a single one of them is any good, he'll be fine in the long run.

Idol showed itself up for the hideous joke it is, thanks in no small part to this site.

After wasting a minute of my life perusing that stupid petition, I must say I'm pretty offended. In these sordid and morbid times, with everything going on in the world and all the economic chaos wrought by a gang of criminals, this is the thing they choose to protest-- getting a stupid kid (who is in way over his head) back on a stupid reality show? Really???

I liked Alex as one of my non-VFTW favorites. However, Internet petitions don't do jack shit, and anyone who has ever used the Internet should know that by now. Besides, TPTB don't give a fuck.

Right, I'm sure TPTB will make sure they get the guy with massive stage-fright and sometimes has terrible performances back on the show right away. rolleyes Chile

I wonder if there will be a judges' "save" again this season. I hope not. That was bullshit (like the rest of the show).

I actually was disappointed that Alex was eliminated. His version of Trouble was all right except that when he sang that he was saved by a woman, it was clear that he wasn't. Alex can sing about trouble and worries with deep feeling in a pleasant voice, but will he ever be able to sing about anything else? Maybe not. He needs to grow up a bit more. Perhaps he can just do it without being on American Idol.

I agree, MeganTard. Kenny's "putishun" is classic!
