Okay, thanks for posting those quotes. I had trouble getting on board with voting for the worst this year. Tim didn't seem to have the star power of Sanjaya or the "what in the hell is a fat ass like me doing here?" vibe of Scott Savol. To make matters worse, he seemed a bit boring while the truly "worst" finalists like Katie Stevens, Mike Lynche, and Andrew Garcia are fingernails-on-the-chalkboard annoying. So I couldn't be bothered to care about 'voting for the worst' at first. Then Tim did an awesomely bad version of 'Under My Thumb', and inspired quotes like this from Michael Slezak of AW: "To me, ''Under My Thumb'' was the craziest kind of unintentional comedy, a theatre of the bizarre in which Tim gets rewarded for delivering a disturbingly misogynist anthem by having hoardes of tween girls text their votes on his behalf — under parental supervision." Tim may have quietly achieved VFTW stardom with that performance. What makes Slezak's observation funnier is Tim's apparent status as the fundie favorite, which should be bolstered even further now that the daughter of a preacherman is heading back to Texas. A fine upstanding young man with American values singing a misogynistic rock song whilst courting the preteen female vote? Well then, America, eff yeah! I just hope Tim can pull this kind of win off again! We may just have another VFTW star here after all!
