Is it me or is this woman's Irish accent entirely intermittent? I mean, on Idol I recall hearing it right in the beginning when she was "the Irish immigrant" and ignoring her previous industry experience. Then throughout Idol, I rarely if ever remember her with a thick Irish accent. Now in this radio interview... what... maybe to not sound like Amy?  I never disliked Carly like all the Worsters did, but I'm learning...

She doesn't have the thickest Irish accent, but you can here it at times. Some people are good at shifting their accents to sound more American. But I don't get why she lied like that. Its stupid, because anyone who's seen her/followed her with Idol knows she covered "Bring Me To Life" and drew comparisons to Amy Lee from day one.

While I'm not a fan, I don't think I'd go to the extreme that some people (including the VERY angry youtuber that made this) would go. It's natural for any performer to want to distance themselves from previous incarnations, and just be judged on their own (in this case limited) merits. However, she IS handling the comparisons very poorly. All she has to say is, yes, she knows she'll be compared to Amy Lee, but she's not going to let it affect how she approaches her music.

There would have been a very easy, graceful way to acknowledge the past without lying that she's never heard the music, without effectively saying that people are stupid if they think she sounds like Amy...I bet it would have enabled her to move on faster from the past also. But O'Plantson can't do graceful - she can only do shitty and vile.
