We're teaming with AOL Television to name the 12 worst 'American Idol' semifinalists ever. We'll be posting one finalist each week. Check back tomorrow for the pick at #1.

AOL Television and Vote for the Worst bring you the 12 Worst Finalists in American Idol history. Other people may have hated them, but Vote for the Worst loves these misunderstood geniuses for the entertainment value they brought to American Idol. So their "worst" is our "best", and we're gonna tell you why.

Check out #2: John Stevens at AOL Television today. John was the very first VFTW pick to really do some damage to the competition. Now season 3 was full of terrible contestants, but John Stevens rose above them all. His terrible falsetto in "Crocodile Rock" made us love him, and his shaky performance of "King of the Road" had us cheering. VFTW also created its very own website during John's run to amp up the support; previously we had been exclusively on the Survivor Sucks message board. After John's awful performance of "Mandy", the following night saw the 3 producers favorites in the bottom 3 and an untimely elimination for Jennifer Hudson. The outrage was the first time VFTW saw one of its picks cause chaos, and we all remember our first time. Alas, John didn't make it past another week, but we'll always have YouTube.

We'll be switching back and forth to get the entire list of 12 up. Our pick for #3 will be posted next Tuesday.

I hate how people say that Jennifer Hudson's elimination was "shocking." Yeah, it's shocking in retrospective because she's won an Oscar and stuff since then. Back then Jennifer was over the top and not very consistent.

It was the fact that those three, Jennifer Fantasia and LaToya, were in the bottom three, while John and Jasmine were safe. That was the shocking part. At the time if any of them had to go home, it was Jennifer.

Also didn't John get eliminated the week before Big Band week, or whatever the hell it was called? Would have loved to have seen him fail doing his supposed "wheelhouse".

In the Gloria Estefan week Simon explained Stevens' performance away as being him and Latin music being very different. But Music of My Heart is about as Latin sounding as the bagpipes. Stevens' fail that week was because (a) he cannot sing in tune and (b) he is a disrag.

As for Crocodile Rock - I cannot watch that performance. My eyes and ears bleed every time I try.

Was he worst then most of the people on idol this year i don't think so. Is the reason you are doing only one name a week is because your number one is going to be the 2010 finalists except Crystal. Was this list done before the final 12? But most likely it is Sanjaya.

I actually felt sorry for the dude but than he took out my JHud. Yes JHud was all over the place back than but she literally had the best performance of the night.

Than I started to feel sorry for the dude when he started to receive death threats.:(

Awww, yes. He sucked so bad. I liked him, though. My mom liked him even more, and insisted that grandma's everywhere were voting for him.

My very first time of seeing Idol was season three. And I loved this kid, long before ever hearing of VFTW Laugh He was so awesome and good natured about things. I booed when he got booted. He and Boomie were my favs.

John Steven's Crocodile Rock was gold! Beautiful. From the voice to the dancing it was just beautiful. Did the producers hear that before they let him perform? Saying that, he probably would have had a good chance of winning this season.

I hope that John Stevens apologized to Sir Elton John for butchering his classic. No wonder that kid got death threats!

It's great that AOL TV picked these up (and I think they're great) but I have a feeling their appeal is lost on the AOL audience. I think they're most likely to be the sort to consider Idol as "serious business," especially given the comments left on most of the articles.
