Katy, throwing a Coke in Kara's baboon face would be a waste of a perfectly good Coke. I'm not really a fan of hers, so I'm not excited by this news. But I promise to give her a chance.

Definitely, she should join yet another reality TV competition show, instead of going on tour, earning her significantly more, or getting married, a lot more pleasant then sifting through wannabees. She worked at a Atlantic in A&R before, how likely is it she'll want to go back to a job that is essentially the same? There's no shortage of money for her, so while she would be fantastic on the show, for her sake, I hope she doesn't join.

This is so NOT gonna happen. Perry is a lousy singer and a terrible songwriter, but she has a career. No doubt she won't have one five years down the road, but right now she has one. Why would she sign up for a dumb TV show that would tie her down for months ? This rumour makes no sense.

Why? $340,000 an episode, that's why. Let's assume X Factor has 16 weeks of episodes, 2 a week. That's over $10 million for 4 month's worth of work. I think most people would take that.

Do the show for a few weeks in auditions, Record her album days and do the show for a few hours at night. And have huge promotion for her next album. Not to mention $340,000 an episode. The record business and touring business is in shambles and while she may be able to headline a tour she may actually flop on tour.

MMmmmm.... I can watch AI starring Randy, the very old guy from Aerosmith, a TBA washed up has-been female singer, and the worlds biggest DB OR I can watch Simon, Katy Perry, and possibly Pauler on a brand new show. Not only does this make senses (yet another FU from Simon to AI) but I can see it happening. Katy's songs are basically crappy bubble gum music she (or probably an army of producers and writers) can barf up within a few minutes time. So Katy can tour in the summer and make $$$$$$$; then during the winter make the next forgettable album while being a judge making $$$$$$$$$$$$. BTW - We need a Steven Tyler icon to be made available. You can place it next to the one of the face puking.

I think she'd be a decent judge, but I can't really see it happening. I understand the money angle, but this would damage her career. She is actually getting more popular, like her or not. I believe the rumor though, because Simon obviously likes her a lot. She was guest judging X-Factor UK a week ago.
