Our Girl Bristol Comes in 3rd... Jennifer Grey Wins Dancing With the Stars

Bristol Palin lost Dancing With the Stars after the judges piled on points and points for ringer Jennifer Grey to make sure the outcome was inevitable. Oh well, it was a fun ride and it was great riling up people by helping Bristol make it to the top 3! Though one question remains... why did Interscope send out a tweet halfway through the finale congratulating Jennifer on winning the show? Seems a bit fishy. They then quickly deleted the tweet and replaced it with one asking if Jennifer would win. Nice save there... Here's the tweet screencap:

Well, after the THIRD perfect 30, it was pretty much a fait accompli. Why wait, they figured.

Bristol's appearance was the highest viewed DWTS in 6 years according to Nielsen

You see, this is why there needs to be some kind of agency counting the votes along with the show in order to make certain everything is above board. We can joke about how it makes the show looked rigged to our hearts' content, but imagine for a minute how Grey must feel about the whole thing. This is the first thing approaching good publicity she has had in years, and Interscope just had to go and take that from her. How much better would every winner on these stupid shows feel about themselves (including Clarkson) if we had someone's word other than that of Fremantle to take for it that they had won?

Good for Jennifer, she deserves a break and she is very talented. Bristol can't complain with third, and Kyle did good, too. Everyone's a winner--unlike the last round of AI.

Randy is fat

I don't watch DWTS, but someone told me that the finale was on til 11 PM. So when a "promoted tweet" showed up just after 10:30 EST saying Grey had won, I was surprised they announced it that early in the show.

Then I popped into the DWTS thread and noticed nobody was talking about the result, and turned on the show and they were still dancing or being scored or something.

It doesn't really matter if Interscope knew the result or not, from the little bit I saw of the finale it seems like they have convoluted enough finale voting rules to push the outcome whatever way they want.

Why?

Because her career ended after a nose job that was too good. After that no one recognized her.
