If you think about it Crystal's 58k don't look so bad right now but last year when Kris sold 80k it was considered a failure especially since Adam pulled almost 200k. I think Crystal could even sell 200k copies which isn't so bad for the type of artist she is. I won't be surprised if next year's winner sells less than 10k like you said. Unless they pull a slightly talented Justin Bieber out of their butts.

You're absolutely right, Dave. 58K on an Indie label would have been incredible. I feel bad for her. Hopefully they drop her soon and she signs to an Indie label. She'd probably make more money that way.

I personally think they will lower that in the near future due to incredibly low record sales by most artists

No worries. She has talent and will have a career, again most likely on some indie label. Ten years from now she'll be hanging out with the next Patti Griffin or Ani Difranco -- not a bad life. Lee (nice guy) will be toast -- or serving toast. Not sure who in the top 12 they would have had an easier time marketing -- Casey? Timmy? Who knows? Bet next year they'll have a more interesting final 12 though.

Why do people care if Pigpen tanks or not, i bet she would be a failure indie record or not. Besides past contestants like Tamyra Gray, LaToya London, Melinda Doolittle, even Constantine are a million times better than Crystal but neither has a good career. We are all talking about Lee, Ruben, Taylor, Bo and others being failures. So why is it fucking different with her. She came to AI by choice, if she was that good, why come to idol.
