I certainly agree. It was the worst I've heard since that fat lady sung it at a baseball games years ago. I forget her name. But it was horrible. There's not enough words in my vocabulary to describe how bad it was.

That should be another warning to the Fox exec's - a job better left to someone who can sing.

I just can't do it. I'd rather remember him the way he was- "Angel", "Amazing", "Crying"...
Err, that sounded morbid, didn't it...

Last year the country legend Glen Campbell performed in my city, and he was so incoherent patrons demanded their money back and accused him of being loaded on stage. It was so bad -forgetting words, off key- his camp finally announced he was suffering from Alzheimer's.
This was that bad.
Yoji is right, I'd rather remember Pump.

Ya know, he sounded like an aging rock legend singing the national anthem. He was never Whitney Houston. I'd rather hear someone who bothered to remember the words than someone who tries to fit a run into every other space (Mariah Carey).

I just want to point out that Steven Tyler is not...I repeat..not from Pittsburgh...after the last post/recap, I didn't want anyone to be wondering about that.
His age was showing a bit when he had trouble climbing down out of the plane on the San Diego Auditions show. I was afraid he was going to fall and break another hip.

the difference is that she didn't take it seriously and "sung" like crap on purpose. here we have a supposed professional singer, and he still sucks. oh well, at least he got most of the words right.

It just sounds like Steven Tyler doesn't it? Usually he has a band backing him up and filling in the rough spots but given that this was acapella, really what were they expecting him to sound like?

I like the fact that he just did a straight forward rendition. However, his pipes, like his body, are too rusty. And what the eff. Steven, you are a New Yawker, no?
