Haley, Hallie, and Hollie - Ummmmm...

Ugh. I got hooked on The Sing Off on NBC and now I can't even stomach this show anymore. Not even for VFTW purposes. Sing Off was intended to be a stupid Glee copycat but turned into a bunch of music geeks doing crazy intricate arrangements of everything. It was brilliant TV, but nobody watched it, and it will likely get cancelled.

Watching these idiots being paraded around on the Idol shitshow is just vomit-inducing.

Wow. For years I complained that American Idol is getting too white, and now this is shaping up to be the whitest season of all time. I only see one obvious woman of color in the semifinals (Jessica Sanchez), so unless Skylar Laine is also a woman of color (I assume that Chelsea Sorrell is white), Jessica will be the only one. And not a black woman in sight. This has to be a first in Idol history.

SEASON 01 - Tamyra Gray (4th) and Christina Christian (6th)

SEASON 02 - Kimberley Locke (3rd) and Trenyce Cobbins (5th)

SEASON 03 - Fantasia Barrino (1st), LaToya London (4th), and Jennifer Hudson (7th) (I heard that Diana DeGarmo was part black, but I'm not sure)

SEASON 04 - Vonzell Solomon (3rd) and Nadia Turner (8th)

SEASON 05 - Paris Bennett (5th), Mandisa Hundley (9th), and Lisa Tucker (10th)

SEASON 06 - Jordin Sparks (1st), Melinda Doolittle (3rd), LaKisha Jones (4th), and Stephanie Edwards (11th)

SEASON 07 - Syesha Mercado (3rd)

SEASON 08 - Lil Rounds (7th) and Jasmine Murray (13th)

SEASON 09 - Paige Miles (11th or something like that; I didn't pay much attention to that season)

SEASON 10 - Naima Adedapo (joint-11th?) and Ashthon Jones (13th)

SEASON 11 - not even one black woman in the American Idol semifinals

Either the women of color collectively sucked as a whole, or they were actually superior to these white girls but the producers found the white girls more marketable, or summat in between.
