I've totally forgotten about AI this season and haven't watched any of it. (I only came on VFTW today to see if you had a link to the youtube video showing David Archuleta's upcoming appearance on some Filipino TV mini-series.) Anyway, I did watch an AI "interview" online with Heejun Han. Is the guy's singing as boring as the interview? He looks ready to doze off at any point while talking. "I am unique ... because I can speak Korean.... I...can fold my tongue in half.... I work... for a non-profit...agency." Now that's good TV!

Second.
As goes AI I'd guess the same could be said for VFTW. Are visits here down big also?
Ironic.

Idol has done squat to improve the show this year, even when the competition is knocking down the door. They needed a lot sharper approach and show arrangement, but are getting too old to change.
S. Tyler is yesterdays 63 year-old and aging fast Rock Star that is irrevelant now. He is getting a lot more out of Idol in terms of recognition, than he adds to the show.
J. Lo now over 40, uses the show for her sometimes bizarre fashion statements but is no real talent scout.
Randy is hard of hearing and his comments are old schlick by now.
Long boring audition episodes and meaningless green mile whining.
Well, at least Skylar said she would bring the Judges some Deer meat. That will help the ratings.

Actually it's the opposite of ironic. I would fully expect anything relating to Idol to lose interest proportionately with the show, no matter the viewpoint.

That's what the CEO of Circuit City said.

Just goes to show how overconfident the producers are...as much as people complain about the length of auditions, they think they can get away with dragging them out even longer?
I know a lot of people like Hollywood and want to see more performances, but we also want to see less of the green mile and associated fake outs. I also think they miscalculated the number of people turned off by bad auditions vs the number who like them. Most are annoying but there's always a few gems worth seeing.

It's ironic b/c this site claims to hate all things Idol but at the same time it's this sites bread and butter.

There's a thin line between love and hate. If they claimed to be indifferent, then I'd be wondering.

What stupid reality show will take it's place. X-Factor ratings will go down next season. Idol would have to drop to below 10 million viewers to be even considered for cancellation. It's still #1. Fox Network new shows are doing nothing in the ratings, Alcatraz, though I like it, Touch got bad reviews. Fringe is done. They will milk Idol another 2-3 seasons after this. It is so hard to get a hit show these days. NBC fails with every scripted show. Smash is already smashed! How about ABC, Highly touted Pan Am is cancelled. Lucky for them they have DWTS and The Batchelor. The only shows people watch these days is reality TV. Idol might last long enough for Steven Tyler to be wearing a diaper and using a walker.
