The UK + The Voice = Massive VFTW Victory!

With American Idol and The Voice going on, it would take something of epic VFTW proportion to get my attention right now, but The UK's version of The Voice has done so. Holy shit, this is one massive VFTW Victory! Like last night's group performance by the judges of Beautiful Day, including Will.I.Am and...Tom Jones!...

 

Meanwhile, Mark Buttery, who we introduced you to last week, proved his first massively VFTW performance was no fluke, and even added talkback to one of the judges this week...

The UK, how do you do it! I wish you still ruled the World, not just produced epic VFTW TV shows.

Poor guy loves Erasure so much he drove himself to breathlessness near the end of the song! Awesome! I love me some Erasure, and I love this rock-a-billy looking British pork chop.

This show looks much, much better than either the Voice or American Idol. The singer could really sing, the judges seemed respectable and kind (as opposed to the thug-like, scary-looking crew on AI and especially the Voice)the song was tuneful and likable--I wish we had this in America.


I will add, though, that the US judges sing a bit better!

Damn. I wish BBC America would run this, but they probably won't. This show looks like it has the makings of a Worster's wet dream! I guess we'll be relegated to watching clips on YouTube on this side of the pond. Sam Buttery (could the name be more perfect?) is definitely one to watch. I await more epic performances from this shitfest with bated breath. And please, if there's a God, give us more performances by the judges.
