The Edge of Glory Is a Glorious VFTW Victory on The Voice

Oh, The Voice. How you've entertained us all season. Tonight, no one was particularly hilarious or bad, just some medicore performances and a few good ones. Our pick from last week, Juliet, definitely improved and was not VFTW worthy. So let's just call it a tie this week - the VFTW pick is all 4 of Team Blake and Team Christina. Jermaine, Erin, Chris, and Lindsey came out and took a dump on the stage in the glorious Edge of Glory. So rather than vote for someone this week, let's just enjoy this train wreck and let the chips fall where they may. There's no need to ruin The Voice if they throw us a bone like this. We'll see if anyone is hilarious enough to support in the finale.

Besides, we need to keep our dialing fingers fresh to make sure Phillip Phillips makes it to the finale on Idol. (Video via Rickey.org)

Tonight was boring, with the exception of that group performance.

Indeed. But the rest of the season has been so good, so I'll let it slide. No reason to vote tonight since no one was really that fun.

C'mon Dave, we live to vote. (Sad, isn't it?) It's only ten crummy little votes max, plus our social media. Well 20 if I grab my husband's cell, as I am wont to do. I voted for Juliet out of habit from last week, but had not voted for the other teams. Just assumed that Lindsey would be included, but held off on the chance that opera boy was good for the worst.

Next season, can you get a volunteer to recap the blind auditions for each week and the "competitions?" I'd volunteer if I were a tenth as funny as you or Insane or STP. But surely there is someone here with the wit and the interest to do it. It should be our reward show for having to sit through the Titanic disaster that Idol has become.

If the judges from the other competitions were covering this group, I think their comments would have been, for Opera Boy:

Amazing Randi: "Yo dude that was just pitchy for me and I couldn't understand a word you said. Dope dawg pound finish line."

J Ho: "What is your room number?"

Steven: "Beautiful. That was just beautiful, man."

Simon: "That sounded just like someone's drunken uncle got up and grabbed the mic at the Vatican."

___________

So anyway, no idea how the voting works with the judges percentages, but it can't be more fixed than Idol, can it?rolleyes

Was Juliet wearing Football Shoulder Pads in that dress?? With a girl as strange in her clothing choices, how can we desert her??

In fact it seems to be more fixed then Idol! I think it's different though since the fix is right in front of your face.

Last season, the judges completely mussed out an let America decide except for Adam. I think that is gonna change this season.

I forgot how exactly they convert the percentages but glancing at Wikipedia, they just added the percentages together to form a score. Like if Juliet got 60% of America's vote and 60 points out of 100 by her judge she would have 120 points. In that scenario, she would probably move on since her opponent could only max out at 80 points.

Thanks for the info on the votes and percentages, InsufferablePJ.

Oh, and when I said that it can't be more fixed than Idol, I did put in the "rolls eyes" smiley. So it's hard to pull the wool over my eyes.

(Unless I'm tied up.) ;)

I quit watching The Voice during the battle rounds and switched to Dancing With The Stars. And yes, I will definitely save my voting fingers for Phillip Phillips, the man that must be The WINNER of American Idol Season 11. We all need to vote more than ever people. And I mean more more more and faster faster faster. We must vote like there's no tomorrow. And then vote even harder next week if he makes it.

I have to commend you guys for not sticking with Juliet as the worst after that Spectacular performance. I'm gonna tard out a little and say that may be the best performance I've ever seen pn these stupid talent competititions. I;d buy her album. She got stuck with some shit songs the last couple weeks (although she could have done EDnaswap's version of TOrn and been great) but she pulled it out!! You got to give it up that that was great!!!
