The National Anthem has been sung so many times that sometimes people feel the need to put their own spin on it, like Casey Abrams did last night before the Mets-Yankees game. And his spin was distinctly VFTW!

Love that the person who uploaded the vid to YT couldn't be bothered to rotate it, either. Nicely done!

Casey don't give a fuck.

It's obvious that the American flag wasn't the only thing flying that day!

Those were some class-A bum notes when he did "rockets' red glare."

And I love how we was playing the cello even though you couldn't hear it at all. He's still trying to remind people that he's TOTALLY a musician, y'all. Someone needs to hit him on the head with the cello.

That was really horrible. LOL at the wild hair, he looks like a caveman. Totally VFTW worthy.

I've heard worse versions, like steven tyler's "rendition" at last years afc championship game. but, this was a bad one. what I can't understand is why the people at the game were clapping for him. maybe they were just happy it was over and the ears could stop bleeding. it's definitely a vftw worthy moment. american a-hole producers should feel sooooo proud of the crap they dumped on us.VFTW VictoryVFTW Victory

That's a bass, not a cello.

I loved it in a non-VFTW way, except for the part where he was too high to remember to clear his throat before he sang on TV, which I loved in a VFTW way.

Yep, that was pretty bad. But I agree with Scumbag, Steven Tyler was worse and he's suppose to be a professional singer.

As a Brit I really like the SSB. It's got a great tune and can be quite emotional. WAYYY better than our God Save The Queen rubbish.

However, SSB is really hard to sing if you start from the wrong place. As anthems go - as in something to be sung by a lot of people - it's a bit of a disaster.

When so many 'top' singers struggle with it, it surely tells you that it is flawed to some degree as a vocal piece. ;)
