Jackson outTMZ is confirming what we figured... Randy Jackson is no longer an Idol judge - but he will still be around to "mentor" the contestants. Randy was a judge on American Idol for 11 seasons and he never did a single interesting or memorable thing. Upon finding out that he was fired from his judging job, we called Randy for a comment. He muttered something about dogs and playing bass in Journey, but we were too disinterested to write down the exact quote.

What's he gonna mentor them on, fashion?

He was so irrelevant that he actually gave a human perspective to the show, showing how expendable can be the human being and how far can an expendable person go in our contemporary unfair world.

He spent more time saying he played with The Journey than actually playing with The Journey.

Sure hope Keith Urban is going to grace us with some flair each week!

Bye bye, Randy.

Maybe you can create a fashion line for Wal-Mart. :)

I want your childen, Leandro, just on the basis of that bon mot.

I still think Idol was under the mistaken impression that Randy Jackson was one of the Jackson 5 when they hired him.

Oh well, NM, once Simon and Paula were gone as a duo the show was more than over and it was before they left.

So what I want to know is why am I still watching? Just for VFTW, I guess.

So Randy is just changing chairs, to mentor the new herd in how great the 80's were. a name-dropping mentor that can't sing, but sez his pets can sing the phone book. Good lookin' out, dawg, gettin' that new chair.

Same here...for a couple seasons now at least. But I find that I need something to fill my point-and-laugh/sarcasm quotient each week, and AI/VFTW is way better than real life for letting that out. ;)

Eh, not much of a difference here. Instead of the contestants ignoring his critique as a judge they will just ignore his advice as a mentor.

Maybe we'll see a whole lot less of him. And his stupid flair. Will he be Jimmy Iovine's sidekick? Jimmy adds to the show, IMO. Randy will try to upstage Jimmy, and be as annoying as ever.

What the hell is "The Journey?" Laugh. Is it the sequel to Miley Cyrus' "The Climb?"

I think The Randy Jackson has overstayed his the welcome on The American Idol for the eleven years. His being a the mentor will not have any the effect on how useless of a the entity he is. However, it will be a the relief to not have to hear "Yo the dawg, I worked with The Mariah Carey! Your the performance was pitchy, the dawg."
