Enrique Iglesias Reported To Be Fourth Judge On American Idol

When this show first started nobody knew who the judges were except for maybe Paula Abdul, and she wasn't even that big a star. Nobody ever heard the name Ryan Seacrest either. That was because it wasn't about them, it was about the contestants. With that said, CANCEL THIS SHOW ALREADY! Y'all have ruined it beyond repair. You might as well add Sarah Palin. I'm sure she'll jump at the opportunity to talk shit on camera again.

Magma 's point is well said. ALL the judges now are/were BIG stars in their respective music genres. A good ex. is X-Factor's new promos. All the clips showcase the judges - Demi Lovato spitting several mints into Simon's hand, and loads more of the same - So, ALL & I mean ALL the attention will be on the superstar judges of XF and Idull, and NO ONE will care about the contestants. The failure rate of the singers NOW will be just beyond words, and it was already shitpoor the last few years.

TV karaoke is now officially all about the judges... a la "The Voice." We can only hope that between the panels and deluded casts, massive trainwrecks will ensue.

at how much Keith Urban, a current country music super star, is being paid compared to the others. It almost makes me wonder if he is just a rumor.

Behind the scenes, there are deals cut through the management firms and labels of the Celebrity Judges --- that feed the money machine of the fame monster --- which gets a nice stroke from the Idol Judge position.

Tyler and Lopez both got a good ride beyond, but through, the show for commercials, song promo, publicity through magazines and media. However, the ratings were sliding and the viewers were getting tired of their jabber.

Soon TPTB realized they were paying for a lame horse that would be riskier for trotting the side-door commissions money to the labels that Fred Idol and Marty E have an interest in --- plus advertisers were backing-out of deals proposed for 20 million viewers, when 30% dropped-out and many more dvr'd the show so they could skip both the commercials and the mindless chatter from the clowns/judges.

So now the new era begins. Keith Urban and Enrique may get the least money, but best ride from the show on the side. Mariah will sell more records to the same folks that buy her stuff anyway, but does not appeal to the tweens all that much. They prefer Taylor Swift, Selena, Colbie, Rihanna, etc.

I think Idol is going to doom itself by keeping up with the trend of having superstar judges and instead trying to keep ahead of it.If they truly wanted the show's focus to be on the contestants in my head they've should've gottnen the panel from The Sing Off; Ben Folds, Sara Barellies,& Shawn Stockman.For the 4th judge Kara,so she could be the bitch & the industry voice. Ben,Sara,& Shawn proved that they could actually give constructive criticism without the bullshit.Also those four wouldn't require a high salary.

Since it's Mariah,Nicki,Keith,& Enrique the focus is going to be what they're wearing and the music is going to be the same shit as before.

You see the gargantuan he's kissing onstage? I'm guessing that a favorite charity of his would get a large donation if he did that.
