MJ's Big Blog grabbed a screencap of an Instagram post by Fantasia where she slams gay marriage (see left). After saying that gay marriage is something the bible says we shouldn't be doing, many of her fans were angered. She released a statement later saying:
"Comments made by Ms. Barrino through her Intragram account were recently taken far out of context, and the purpose of this release is to set the record straight. Ms. Barrino is not now, nor has she ever been an opponent of the LGBT community. She has supported and performed at numerous events that are sponsored by the LGBT community. Whether it’s through a live performance or placement on social media, Ms. Barrino uses every opportunity to reach out and connect with her fans, all of her fans."
It's not out of the realm of possibilites that Fantasia misspoke. She did just learn to read a few years ago and the post is poorly written, so it's not as if she's a master of the English language. We're sure gay men made up a large portion of her fan base, because no one loves a train wreck more than the gays.

I don’t see anything in her little blurb (it looks like English, but I’m not sure) that is definitively anti-gay marriage. I think it was simply a failure to express a coherent thought (something that no doubt happens to her on a regular basis).

I think the Bible verse refers to "judge not lest ye be judged" and all that. She's pointing out all the things they could be mad at instead of hating on her. It was not a judgment against gay marriage or marijuana legalization. The Bible part fits with the "now they all judging me" ending.
She's also a hot mess who sang "yeah yeah yeah" instead of lyrics on Idol because she couldn't read. Who cares what she says? Singing Baby Mama had to be a proud moment in her life because she finally learned to spell.

My only amazement with any of this is the fact that anyone is surprised. We already knew she was dumb as a box of rocks and half as interesting, so is it any surprise that she holds bigoted views? If it weren't for that idiotic show she was on, I forget the name of it, she'd be in a trailer house in Mississippi slowly expanding to the size of the Matterhorn, and disgorging litters of children. Most of her neighbors would be white people who burn crosses on her front porch, and would run her out of town if they could wedge her ever-growing butt out of the front door. Yes, there are still towns in Mississippi (and other places thereabouts) where black people are unwelcome. And yes, I'm equating pretty much all bigoted views as equally preposterous.
