I'm kinda surprised how close I was to the truth in my post in the "Amanda Overmyer Tribute Radio Show" thread: "Anyone besides me get the disinct impression that Amanda actually wanted to go home tonight? Honestly, she was just a fish out of water on this show, and she and everyone else (I'm looking at you producers) knew it. That's not a knock against her, trust me. All I'm saying is, on a show where people are going to be singing Neil Diamond, Mariah Carey, and Andrew Lloyd Webber, where the hell does Amanda fit in? She could never win, because she's playing a completely different ballgame than the rest. I think she accomplished what she wanted from the show, which was to get her name out there, build a small fan base, and be able to sell out bars in Lafayette. I wish her the best of luck." Sorry for the repost. I been drinkin'!

Well, at least she'd be able to toke up with Jason Castro.

BEST IDOL CONTESTANT EVER!! I hope that Amanda gets a deal from someone, I'd buy anything she puts out. In the land of Fake, she is for real. She didn't want to be on this show, she just wants to perform for people that dig her vibe. I hear people refer to her as a throw back, what's wrong with that? All we get these days is a flavor-of-the-month Pop canned, pre-processed bullshit. There are NO Rolling Stones, Aerosmith, Led Zepplin, Michael Jackson (yeah I said It), or Pearl Jam's anymore. The Larger than life performers, Legends, Greatness personified. They can't make it in the self indulgent world of music today. She could be one of them. Live the dream Amanda! I'll follow you to the depths of perditions flames! OOOOOOoooooooooHHHHHHH, Chile!!!!!!!!!

Is it really? Not that I don't believe you, but why would they put people(contestants up for a spot and voters alike) through that to have it not pan out and an actual spot on the tour open up for the winner? God, the more I read this site the more I am completely put off by this show and the producers. Why can't anything just be what it is and legit anymore?

She is true to herself. I never bought any Idol CD's, but I just love this chick. I would definitely buy her CD, and go to her concert. Our Chile will sell out at Whisky's.

I completely agree with this. As Janis Joplin is my favorite singer, I am very critical when it comes to someone trying to cover her songs, I wasn't with Amanda. I loved her since the auditions. Janis would be proud of this girl. Long live rock'n'roll. It's so nice to know that it's not dead yet. Thanis Amanda for reminding that rock'n'roll lives on.
