We've wanted to do a charity drive on VFTW for years now, but didn't want to look like we stole the idea once American Idol unveiled their gigantic Idol Gives Back extravaganza. But then we thought, who cares, doing something good for a charity at any level is worthwhile in every case. This week, Vote for the Worst encourages you to help donate to Relay for Life, which supports the American Cancer Society's fight against cancer. The Society works hard every day to prevent cancer and save lives by supporting groundbreaking research, affecting public policies that protect us from cancer, and educating people on how to prevent or detect cancer early. Many of you know someone personally affected by cancer. And even if you don't, can you believe that more than 1.3 million new cancer cases are expected to be diagnosed in the United States this year? Vote for the Worst's goal is to raise $2000 to help Relay for Life and the American Cancer Society, and VFTW's Dave will be walking during this year's Relay for Life. Please support this great cause by making a donation. Even if everyone from this website donated $5, it would add up to an incredible amount. And if we surpass our goal, we'll set a new one. Donating will make a real difference in the lives of people facing cancer and in the lives of the people who love them. To donate, click on this link and choose donate on the next page. Thank you for your support!

UPDATE: All in all, we raised $2,461 to help the American Cancer Society. Great work!

I love this. This totally goes against all of the tweentards saying that this website is evil and crushes dreams.

As a worker for the US Federal Govt, we have the annual "CFC" (Combined Federal Campaign). Although I can't give here, I do give annualy to the American Cancer Society.

So count me as a contributor.

BTW, I did drop $5 into a "raffle box" for the relay for life at the local bank... That might be the only way I'll ever get a Wii...

well im pissed off

Donation done. Thanks Dave for doing this and thanks everyone else for taking part. The American Cancer Society has a special place in my heart. My mother is a breast cancer survivor and I have worked with Cancer researchers as part of my regular 9-5 job for the last 18 years. I just wish I had more to give. Thank you again

Thanks for giving me a link to donate to cause that I really believe will do some good. My family has lost many members to this terrible disease, as has many families. I hope that my small donation will help to find a cure or ease the pain of a cancer victim. Another way to contribute is to donate to your local Hospice org.

Just made a donation. I'm happy to give to you and your charity of choice instead of Idol Gives Head! ;-)

At first I thought you meant that somehow the federal government prevents you from donating to charity. But I looked up the CFC and what I guess you are actually saying is "No thanks, I gave at the office."
