"none of them are the worst, and none of them are unmarketable." Have to disagree. All of the remaining contestants have significant flaws which are likely to interfere with successful marketing. I agree that TPTB can monkey around with their recording sessions to try to make them sound better, but I seriously doubt that any will have significant album/concert sales. I also think TPTB are relatively clueless about how to market their Idols. Let's review: #1-Kelly = success, although only after quite a passage of time (remember "Justin Loves Kelly" or whatever that crap movie was?), seemingly after TPTB were no longer very hands on. #2-Ruben = not a success #3-Fantasia = not a success #4-Carrie = a success, despite TPTB not liking country #5-Taylor = not a success, although not bad album sales, since he lost his contract #6-Jordan = not a success, although I think has reasonable talent, but has not outsold Taylor, and has certainly had promotion (I think the Super Bowl qualifies) Daughtry's success seems to be in spite of, not caused by TPTB (he was only a #4) Katherine McPhee seemed to be a producer favorite, and is not a talentless singer, but lost her recording contract. Clay was doing OK for a while, but haven't heard much from him lately. I don't see any of the current crop having a talent level on par with any of the above, so I doubt they will have much commercial success, regardless of who wins.
