I didn't mean that Kelly was less successful than Carrie, I meant that right now, Carrie is topping the charts and Kelly is not. Overall, of course, Kelly has sold more, but in this "what have you done for me lately" world, Carrie is "now" and Kelly is "then." There is nothing wrong with "then," unless you're in the top 24 and have to sing 60s songs with the threat of being called "old fashioned." Kelly coped with depression because she was no longer topping charts over and over, but has bounced back... not to the same degree, but still coming back. Carrie, on the other hand, has had continual sucess ever since winning. Hard to argue with consistency. If we wanted to get technical, I would say that out of all the Idolists, Jennifer Hudson is the most successful, because of the prestige of winning an Oscar. Many singers win Grammys, but only a select few actors win Oscars, and she got one on her first attempt?! Quite an accomplishment.
