jason castro is a plant? i don't check this site every day, nor do i read every post or comment, so there is a very real possibility that i missed something, but i didn't think he was a plant. all i read was something about him having gotten some air time on a reality tv show because he happened to be the boyfriend of one of the girls that was a cast member. or something along those lines. i dunno.

I thought the rule was that they couldn't have a current record deal (and David never had a record deal at all), not that they couldn't sell music during the show. If it is a rule, they should consider enforcing it because at least half of the top 10 have been selling records during the show.

This page shows the top 10; a spot for each of their upcoming albums is reserved. They all say "New Release"...except for David Cook, who already has Analog Heart listed. This showed up this weekend. Looks like he cut a deal with American Idol to promote AH after the show...
