Paula Lies about the "Jason's Second Song" Mixup

In damage control mode today, Paula Abdul tells Entertainment Tonight that she was actually commenting on David Cook's song when she mentioned Jason's "second song" during her infamous flub on the show last night. It's not believable, she should've just gone with the "I'm drunk" excuse. Her critique on "Jason's second song" was that he wasn't trying hard enough to get into the top 4 and that it wasn't good. Her critique of David after catching herself was that he was good. This should be proof enough that Idol isn't even good enough at lying to fix simple problems that expose how fixed the show is. If it truly was a misunderstanding, it would be easy to explain. But since Paula is lying about it, something is up. Also, EW's Popwatch blog talks about how Nigel Lythgoe was FREAKING OUT when Paula messed up with quotes like, "Nigel was frantically gesturing a single finger to anyone who could see him: ONE SONG! THEY'VE ONLY SUNG ONE SONG!" The fact that Nigel was freaking out is a sure sign that this was definitely something big. (If you missed Paula's flub, you can check it out here.)

Actually, it was brilliant! Look at all the free publicity AI has received today. I bet the show's numbers are way up tonight too! Brilliant, simply brilliant! That being said, I about peed my pants after seeing it last night. Jason, Paula needs another toke!

Obviously about 50 million people saw that flub. If it wasnt a big deal they would not have needed damage control. Someone should have gotten Paula shit faced then brought her on entertainment tonight.

So there tactic tonight will be seacrest opening the show with damage control saying things were confusing.

Come on stoner call them out on it! That would be friggin priceless

More evidence of her lie is her comment for Jason after he finally did do the second song. She emplored him to "fight for it", the very same comment she was making about his "second song" before he performed it.

Even if she really did mistakenly think comments for another singer were comments on a "second song" by Jason, she still has no explanation for why she thought he sang twice when he sang once. She said "I thought you sang twice!" That alone is evidence she is insane.

Ahhh the art of backpeddling....make up your mind Pauler which story you are going to stick with, or how about this, if you don't want to come clean about the show, say something like "people make mistakes, things fall apart sometimes...." That is a line of BS for America Idol tweentards to embrace and feed their lack of attention span souls.

I was just going to say that. Last night she said "I thought you sang twice", then Randy desperately tries to shut her up, Simon appears to be enjoying Paula's screw up, and then you can hear Paula nervously try to cover it up by saying "you know I am looking at your notes, David, you were fantastic" which is totally contrary to what she had said. So basically she was saying Jason sucks even before he sings the song; he sucks and David is awesome. I wonder how Jason felt after that. I know I would be upset.

I don't know if I would say she's insane though; she is more like wasted beyond her usual incoherence. Which for Paula is saying a ton! It makes me wonder what TPTB, Simon, Paula, or Seacrest might say tonight in the way of damage control. I know that if I were in Jason's position I would call her out. I hope this didn't give the stoner extra votes.

BTW, that was totally the only thing that made last night worth watching. I hope we get a total diva meltdown tonight from Paula, Ryan, or one of the contestants; or I may have to give up on this season, as it is sooo boring. Who am I kidding, I have no life and will continue to VFTW!!

I missed it last night - did they actually show Nigel spazzing out?

That would've about perfected LIFE.

I still don't see how this proves the show is rigged. I'm not saying it's not, but this does not prove it. This just proves that the judges aren't paying attention to the actual performances (which also explains why they praised Retardchuleta even though his voice cracked during his song).

Seriously, can we save the "IT'S RIGGED!" spaz outs for when something happens that actually shows it's rigged? The shrieking is starting to sound shrill.
