No One Believes Rehabdul's Spin

Even the New York Times is in on it now. Idol really messed up this week when Paula clearly showed on Tuesday night that the judges do not watch the contestants' performances during the live shows. No matter what the excuse is, the result is stil lthe same: the show is losing its credibility fast. In the Times piece, lying producer Cecile Frot-Coutaz says that "she does not believe that the credibility of the show has been compromised." Yeah, just say it enough times and it becomes true, just like this being the best top 12 ever. Cecile also added that, "the judge’s opinions do not determine the viewers’ votes." In what world are you living in, Cecile? Most of the Idol viewers do exactly what Simon and the gang tell them to do. Why do you think Archuleta is so popular? It's surely not his talent. The Chicago Tribune even asks the question "Why are people only noticing American Idol's shenanigans now?" while giving VFTW credit for trying to expose the emperor's new clothes for a while now.

Maybe the will all finally catch on and idol will get canceled, but then what would we do with our time?

TPTB's efforts to cover this up aren't working out so well. It will be interesting to see how they deal with all of these major news sources calling them out on the shenanigan now.

Wow that Chicago Tribune is a great read. This has been going on for years and we all knew it glad its finally catching on. Season 7 has really been the most manipulative piece of shit season ever.

Pathetic that there are dumbasses out there that still believe this show is fair and a singiing competition

She changes her story more often than a politician, but I'm sure Fox will pull something out of it's ass to distract from it.

Surprise elimination, anyone?

I hope so...anything that will save Jason. He really must be the next VFTW choice. He is as anti-idol as they come.

I thought so too. Clearly, David Cook is the chosen one, and the only purpose to have Gaspy there is for the few teenager ratings they have left. Since this is an issue that's getting hotter by the minute I'm having the gut feeling that Gaspy is gone next week.

But Idol is more popular than ever! They had 40 something million votes this week! Didn't you hear Ryan say so? He said it, so it must be true. Who are you to doubt American Idol?

No, we won't show you the vote totals! Why should we? We need some more Kool Aid over here, stat!

Why don't you enjoy this nice Scientology pamphlet while you drink your tasty, not at all drugged Kool Aid? That's right. Big gulps!

If Jason is the next choice, he is doomed. VFTW is 0-3 so far, might as well make it 0-4.

Yeah, I thought this part was funny

On Wednesday online chatter about Ms. Abdul’s mistake included some critics, like Michael Slezak on Entertainment Weekly’s ew.com, even raising questions about whether the judges are given scripted comments to recite about the contestants.

Slezak was a Carly fan, and admits that he cried when Archuleta sang Imagine, so if he suddenly has questions, perhaps Paula really has torpedoed the good ship AI.

I can't imagine real (cough) writers scripting the kind of babble that flows from the judges mouths. Either the writer's strike continues to rear its ugly head after the fact or the judges really are the idiots we thought them to be. I'm betting on the latter.
