Did anyone notice in the re-cap of the songs at the end of the show tonight that the version of Archuleta's "Love Me Tender" was not the same performance as the one they showed earlier on the show?

In the full song, Archuleta had to mouth one of the notes in the last line of the song because he was either out of breath or couldn't sing the high note.

But then on the recap, they show the exact same line at the end of the song, and he nails it, albeit at a lower pitch. What the hell? Did the producers slip a different performance in there? (Possibly a rehearsal performance ending?)

I don't have the means to, but if anyone can get that switcheroo on YouTube (lines from both performances), it would be a HUGE blow to AI.

Um, they do that every week. The recap performances are from a pre-recorded rehearsal. Common knowledge. No huge blow here.

Somewhere on this site someone said maybe we should get back to picking the best singer. what a joke for this site. You wouldn't know a good singer if he/she fell on top of you. Yes that is what this show should be about...The best singer unfortunately there is this site and then millions of people who vote for there favorite whether they sang well or not.

David Cooks first song was just ok but he was really good on the second one.

Syesha was really good with both her songs

David Archuletta- Nailed both of his songs.

All of you who think this kid can't sing must be tone deaf. He can sing and knows how to pick a song.

I waited all season for Jason to really come through, what a disappointment he turned out to be. My prediction is Jason is going home. Finals will come down to the two Davids and David Cook will win.

Did anyone else notice how the producers changed the balance to make some performers sound better than others? The vocals were PUMPED and band was barely audible for everyone except Archuletta - the balance during his was perfect. It's so plainly obvious what they are doing - it just amazes me that it took this long for most people to notice.
