Those song choices are awful! Was Simon hitting Pauler's cup here? Cook will DESTROY the Roberta Flack song and Archie? He's toast with the Billy Joel song also. Syesha just MIGHT be able to do something but good God I think the judges HATE their top 3 here.

As for Dadchuleta, why oh why won't the get a restraining order to keep him away from his kid? He's only using the kid as a meal ticket! And when he's done with him? I see yrs and yrs of therapy in Davey's future!

Johnny Cashs version of "First time ever I saw your face" is kind of haunting and pretty cool actually.

It is more of a test song anyway. It is very difficult to sing - Simon had his 'protege' Leona Lewis sing it as well.

But yeah, in general the song choices piss me off. "American Woman" ? Seriously Nigel? Thanks for the trite, repetitive, overdone song.

btw ... what does it say about the shows producers and their strategy for the contestants ... when the best performance all season is done in the middle of a football field with an acoustic guitar, and not even aired on the show?

Cook did a cover of "There Goes my Hero" today that was far superior to anything I've seen on the live broadcasts

LOL Randy picked that song so he can put Syesha down once more..

I can almost predict what he will say to her.

Syesha man, what is up tonight?

For me that song can't be topped by anyone after Alicia sang it.. It was just okay for me.

*sigh*

Brumming,

If that happens I hope she calls him on it with a comment to the effect HE chose that song for her, knowing her sound etc, etc.

Randy Jackson to me has become one big FAT joke. He is a lousy judge, as is Pauler. He goes on and on about all the folks he's worked with. But really what the hell has he done besides one yr and one tour w/Journey? Oh yeah Plantson's CD back when she was Hennessy.

Rhia,

Don't forget that awful "comeback" song with Rehabdul this year "Dance like there's no tommorow" (because I'm drinking all this booze that I'm hiding in my coke cup)

SupedupX,

I've been trying to forget that song ever since the pimped the vid on Idol here. It's so old school it creaks.

On another note our dear(NOT!) Simon Cowell wants to LOWER the age limit to 14yrs old for Idol. WTF???? Is he perving on some young kid's talent he saw somewhere out there? Idol has officially jumped major shark here.

Uh, yeah...I'd like a single with cheese, extra melisma, hold the originality. Oh, and can I get a large pimp juice with that?

yes, the choices are ridiculous...I can already see it now.

Archie will take this simple Billy Joel song and add unnecessary melismatic runs to it.

Big-Head will take the Roberta Flack classic and add his annoying screams and growl thus defecating on the classic.

Snoresha will take the Alicia Keys hit and add NOTHING new to it but just a horribly bland karaoke mime act...if she's lucky she may add a screechy glory note at the end.

YAWN.

Can I get some comment about Archie's dad from the tweentards? There was some concern from them that only VFTW is mean and cruel to Gaspy.
