Mark Lives Another Day... Frogtard's Other Favorites, Not so Much

Mark Day survives to sing another week on Canadian Idol, and that's all we care about. Greasy Jesse Cottam and overmelismified Lisa Bell said goodbye along with Frogtard favorites Paul Clifford and Jessica Sheppard. This is what's great about Canadian Idol. They can megapimp someone like Jessica Sheppard and she can go home the second week anyway. Jessica and Lisa were pretty good singers, so they probably didn't belong with this circus of clowns anyway, and Paul and Jesse barely made listenable music, so they can go back to doing that. Mark... trust us and listen... next week... "I Believe in a Thing Called Love". Avril Lavigne's "Girlfriend". Any Britney Spears song. Come on, let's see the comedian emerge and entertain us all!

Are you talking about that song by The Darkness? If so, YES. That's VFTW platinum waiting to be unleashed.

Now can we just get rid of the overpimped Oliver Pigslop?

After the last elimination was announced , our boy Mark

started crying like he just got lost at the mall and couldn't find his Mommy.

What wondefull VFTW goodness !

Keep up the good work Mark , and you will get to the finals.

If you are lurking on this site , please pick a VFTW worthy

song for next week.

I would love to hear the Dolly/Whitney song : " I will always love you "

Yeah, Lisa and Jessica get to stay on stage and hug all their tearful friends, by which I mean Mark Day, whilst Jesse and Paul are told to piss off; another example as to just how disorganized CI is. I also hated the "encore" session, which was just another opportunity to uber-pimp such contestants as Pig the Elder and Omar (he sings good, but there's something about him that rubs me the wrong way, either how he talks or his singing voice).

Of course, let's get Mark in the top 10, but let's also see if we can get Pig the Younger to outlast his overrated older brother. Btw, I lay claim to the nicknames Pig the Elder/Younger. :)

I liked the previous result show better. The group numbers were actually watchable and occasionally decent, instead of the Partridge Family monstrosities on AI. I'd rather hear something new than the same boring bricabrac I heard already this week.

Awesome song suggestions for Mark Day...'I Believe in a Thing Called Love' (performed with a cape) is PERFECT!! But how about classics by the King of Pop ? I think 'You Wanna Be Starting Something' (or 'Thriller') would be a risky but fabulous choice...

I, thankfully, missed the group 'performance' (9 times out of ten, they end up completely destroying classic songs you love and enjoy...), but I had the distinct displeasure of witnessing Omar thoroughly drench his encore with melisma and set it ablaze...

Homsar773 and medafighter, I completely agree with you...I think Omar has an chronic case of 'Overly Inflated Ego'...I wouldn't worry about it, though; he will be receiving his cure when he gets eliminated in the coming weeks...

Here's a take home tip for any future CI or AI contestant out there: if the stylists let you walk out on stage looking as though you're about to a) go fishing in Lake Ontario after the show (as Omar did on Wednesday) or b) use a fold out table to do some readings for the 'Psychic Friends' Network (Jessica on Tuesday), then the style team hates you...They REALLY, REALLY hate you...
