With Howie Mandel and Sharon Osbourne on the judging panel with Howard, the crazies will be running the asylum. But not so fast - Howard tells Rolling Stone he's going to be a serious judge and that he won't led the goofy people through. We don't believe that for a second. So next summer we'll see what exactly Howard Stern as a judge means. It'll probably be pretty awesome.

It was too good to be true, but we'd support any way to actually still make it happen. Howard Stern told his satellite radio listeners on Monday that he is considering leaving Sirius – and radio altogether — to become a judge on “American Idol.”

Stern confirmed a report that Fox is interested in hiring the Sirius shock jock to replace Simon Cowell on the reality show.

“There’s not a better job on the planet than judging that f—ing karaoke contest,” Stern said.

There's a wacky article this morning saying that Howard Stern is Fox's first choice to replace Simon Cowell. According to the article...

An insider said that producers of the hit Fox show say Stern, America's highest-paid radio personality, is their top choice to take over from Cowell, who leaves at the end of this season.

They approached Stern after he repeatedly mentioned on-air that his exclusive Sirius XM Radio deal expires next January and he was open to other offers. Cowell was paid $50 million a year.

A source connected to Idol said, Its one of the few shows that could compete with Stern's $100 million-a-year Sirius contract, and Idol bosses think he would be even nastier than Simon.

They know he would be great TV and would clash with the other judges such as Ellen and the contestants. Idol will do what it takes to sign him.

Along with having their voices evaluated, should future contestants now also expect to have their genitals evaluated? Along with being asked about their experience in music, will they also be asked about their experience in anal sex? Howard loves VFTW, and American Idol already is a complete freak show anyway, so we say Go For It!
