Worst Performance: 'Always Something There to Remind Me'
Why We Loved Her (But Everyone Else Hated Her): Nikki was the original "why won't she go home" contestant on American Idol. After making it into the top 10 due to her rocker image (shocking red hair), she became a mainstay of the bottom 3. Each week, she would warble out a song that wasn't very good, and each week she would barely miss out on going home. To be fair, season one's talent pool was pretty shallow, so it wasn't a huge loss.

American Idol season one third place finisher Nikki McKibbin tells US Magazine that Simon Cowell led her down the road to drugs and drinking. Nikki says, "I came out of Idol with a lack of self-confidence... I had never been told I wasn't good enough. Having to hear it for so many weeks from Simon Cowell killed me inside. I couldn't get the s--t he had said to me out of my head." While Simon is a jerk, and American Idol is a terrible show that only exists to embarrass people for ratings, why do so many fragile people try out before realizing that a singing star's life opens them up to immense criticism? Duh.

She was VFTW before VFTW existed. Season 1 of American Idol's "How did she get that far" contestant Nikki McKibbin is checking into Celebrity Rehab for its second season. The first season of the rehab show saw former Idol Jessica Sierra also try to change her life and overcome addictions. Hey, with all of the people who go crazy after being on Idol, they might as well just start a Celebrity Rehab: Idol Edition. Or they could just follow Paula Abdul around and get the same effect.
