Kris Allen performs "Gangsta's Paradise" at the Mix 104.9 Chris-Mix. OK, that's pretty funny. Why doesn't this guy's label know how to market him again?
In what should be obvious to anyone with a brain, Lee DeWyze barely sold any albums this week. His debut album, Live It Up, came in with 39,000 sold according to USA Today. That's less than half of what Kris Allen, the previous low end record holder for the winners, sold last year. Even fucking Justin Guarini from season 1 sold more albums than Lee in his first week. This is truly getting pathetic. A 5 month long advertisement for one person's album can only manage to sell 39k albums, even with millions and millions of people watching? Unless the show produces a megastar this year, looks for cancellation right around the corner.
Kris Allen released his homemade video for "Alright With Me" and it's 100 times better than the crap videos his record label released for his other songs. Mostly because there's some personality to it. Why bother spending so much money on videos that went nowhere anyway? It's not like this song is going to storm the pop charts. Budget saving in this economy is a good thing.
Kris Allen is promoting his latest single, Alright With Me, by answering Twitter fans' questions in a video. We like Kris because he has a pretty fun sense of humor that seems to be missing in most Idol contestants, but we also don't think this song's going to take off because it sounds like background music from an iPod commercial. Then again, that did work for that New Soul song, huh?
