Sarcasm aside, did anyone really expect Victoria Beckham to be a good addition to American Idol 9? Oh wait, the producers did. Because they're morons. Radar Online says that one of Victoria's guest spots judging the show didn't go over too well. She came off as "icy and wooden" and "quite bland." That's because she is icy, wooden, and bland all the time. The only person happy about this? Kara DioGuardi, who now isn't the worst thing on the judging panel. Looks like season 9 is off to a predictably terrible start. Nice work, Simon Fuller.
Rumors have been going around that Victoria Beckham (aka Posh Spice) was going to replace Paula Abdul as the 4th judge on Idol. Thankfully, that only seems to be half true. Victoria has been called upon just to guest judge in at least 2 episodes, according to The Mirror. We don't need a 4th judge, Idol, so you better keep her as a guest. Or just do the right thing and fire Randy and Kara. No one cares about them.
For more publicity while Paula "negotiates" her contract, Shania Twain is now confirmed as being brought in to fill Ms. Rehabdul's shoes for a few dates. Rumors are also swirling that Joe Jonas and Kelly Clarkson will take a seat behind the judges' table during the auditions. The new slew of guest judges join Victoria Beckham and Mary J. Blige as people who will probably bring very little to the show by repeating producer-generated lines. Katy Perry is trying to work Idol into her schedule as well.
