The worst decision in American Idol history (other than letting Taylor Hicks on the show) has been rectified as Ellen Degeneres has gotten the boot! Ellen blabbered about not being a good fit and hurting these losers' the contestants' feelings or whatever, but VFTW knows better...it's blackhearted Nigel Lythgoe coldly taking the trash to the curb, just as he promised he would.
Randy Jackson, you're next!!!
Ellen DeGeneres announced on her talk show today that she is starting her own record label, eleveneleven. But obviously, rather than pick any of the no-talents from American Idol season 9 as her first recording artist, Ellen instead signed some kid named Greyson Chance. He's the boring kid whose YouTube video of Lady Gaga's "Paparazzi" has been making the rounds (see above). Honestly, are we going to give every kid who makes a YouTube video a recording contract now? Greyson is average at best (if you even give him that much), and he should wait a while to actually cultivate his talent rather than waste it on an ill conceived album now. But hey, what do we know? Ellen's the one with all of the Grammys and Billboard #1 hits. Oh wait...
We knew everyone besides VFTW was hating this season of American Idol, but Dish Network's disdain is now very apparent. (Via Gawker)

In what should be painfully obvious, Patti LaBelle has taste. Patti isn't happy with the caliber of judges on American Idol, saying, "some of the judges, I don't think they're qualified to even judge." You mean an obscure bass player from Journey, the guy who produced the Teletubbies and Power Rangers albums, the person who wrote songs for Paris Hilton and Ashlee Simpson, and a random comedienne with no musical experience aren't qualified to judge a musical competition? Get out! LaBelle says she was approached to judge Idol before Paula abdul, but she turned it down. Being that the show's judges have become such jokes, we think she made the right choice.
